Windows phone discontinued?

Am thinking about getting Windows Phone. However, keep hearing rumors about Microsoft discontinuing Windows phones. Worth the purchase? Am on Verizon

    So far my wife really likes her device. Once we put all the Microsoft software on, it was easy for her. She prefers her Microsoft calendar, email and related programs.

    It was a learning curve but we got through it. I like it so much that I would get one. I'm just waiting to see if that Surface phone arrives and if not, I'll switch to a Samsung device.

    Surface Phone??  Haven't heard of that before.  Maybe there's hope?

    Thanks for your reply. I agree, if MS does not come out with a device soon I will have to make the change. I appreciate your post regarding options.
