Windows phone discontinued?

"Companies can not rebrand themselves it never works". Are you joking? Apple started out as solely a computer company. Bill Gates found a way to beat Steve Jobs out in the computer market with Microsoft, where Windows computers dominated over Macintosh computers. The early 2000's saw the re-emergence of Apple with their Apple-OS computers. It didn't put them ahead, but it really closed the gap as Apple was just getting started on their big plans to run the gauntlet THAT STARTED WITH REBRANDING THEMSELVES! They built better and better computers starting out, then the iPhone took the world by storm. It became 1 of the first 2 smart phones alongside Nokia to release the world's first 2 truly smartphones with full internet. Can you guess which one won the battle? Apple did, And it started with what? You guessed it, REBRANDING THEMSELVES and continued to dominate from there. So, while it may look grim for Windows phone, they can recover if they know what they need to fix, how to rebrand it, and how to market it properly. Score one for capitalism, and the fighting spirit to succeed in the face of adversity. It's not about if you get knocked down, it's about can you get back up and keep fighting? That's what winners do. Losers quit because they give up hope.

Really?  Are we brainwashed that the only person who does cars good is the first one that got there?  No one can build a better home coz Pulte perfected mass production...  If that were the case, there would  monopolies all over.  Always check the options available in the market on the day you are looking to spend your hard earned money.  If Windows Phone does it, remember, Microsoft is not a small fish that will disappear. Check you options properly!!  You might end up with the ad infested google apps.  I am not criticizing Google.  Just trying to put forth an objective view.  Most of the apps you install are typically junk.  The phone does three things very well in today's day and age:

1.  Communication - Audio and video calls are most likely going to be swell on these phones considering the hardware specs are better than most android phones.

2.  Browsing - I can bet this phone will not disappoint at most browsing.

3.  Pictures - Since you have the phone always handy, cameras were bound to reduce.  The specs on this phone are not bad.

As for each variation of phone you'll buy, there will be quirks.  If your aim is to buy the latest and greatest, go right ahead.  But don't bet against MS because you believe its not the hottest gadget.  I remember a coworker bashing MS and Windows NT years ago.  He currently works for MS.

The Windows (phone) or Mobile ecosystem is not dead yet, Microsoft is still committed.

What you are hearing is what is already known, MIcrosoft will probably not develop new phones under the Microsoft brand, but leave that up to third party manufacturers like HP and Alcatel etc etc

I wouldn't buy a windows phone if I was you. Sooner or later they will discontinue them. Just like they did with the Zune, and will do with the Xbox. Companies can not rebrand themselves it never works.

Don't buy a Windows Phone.  I've had nothing but trouble, for about a year, that I've had MS Lumia 950xl dual sim.  Always problems, the FEEDBACK Hub, to report troubles, looks like nobody ever checks it; SUPPORT from MS is hard to get.  On this help forum answers usually sound like some kind of  "canned" response.  APPS from websites are practically non-existent.

Wish that I would've bought Apple.
