Still greyed out but I was thinking perhaps it is only for mobile phones or something?

In Windows Defender settings the options for "check apps and files" are greyed out.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I am running Windows 10 Pro X64, Version 1703, OS Build 15063.296

2017-10-02T09:47:20+00:00 Unfortunately I see a lot of questions about the issue but until now not a proper solution or reason why the option is greyed out.
Is there any change Microsoft might step into this to clarify and when? I cannot believe that Ms, while developing windows 10 can ignore these questions of so many users.

2017-10-02T09:17:14+00:00 Yes, i have uninstalled it from the control panel so today i reinstalled the antivirus and used the official removal tool of the antivirus to uninstall it and restarted the system but still "Check apps and files" option is greyed out i.e. OFF . And my windows is up-to-date. I am running Windows 10 Home, Version 1703 Build 15063.632 . Now what to do next ?

Have you installed all the available updates for Windows?
How did you uninstall your antivirus? Removing it from the Control Panel might leave junk registry and files behind. You might check your antivirus' website on how to completely remove it from your Windows 10 PC.

Its been 2-3 months and i have tried everything that is mentioned in this thread but nothing helped. My laptop came with McAfee Antivirus pre installed in it but i have removed it on the first day it self. Still i am having this issue.
