Microsoft Solitaire Collection: TriPeaks won't load - Windows 10

For three days, TriPeaks won't load - "the wheels on the bus go round and round" as one expert here says :o)

When I click on the MS Solitaire Collection icon I get this:

Pyramid and all the others load OK but not TriPeaks; this is the only I play regularly (to relax!).

I searched the Community and in another thread I found one solution was check for Updates, via my account icon - but I only ever play as a Guest. ***

In another thread I found a link to run the Win10 Apps Trouble-shooter. This is what it found:

So what should I do next please? If it's the BITS help, do I type the NET etc in CMD? as an Administrator?

I had the same problem with my Pyramid not working. It would blue screen spin, but never load. It worked in the daily challenges (all other games worked normally) but I wasn't getting anywhere with Pyramid.

I fixed it in admin mode. I had a corrupted "game in progress" - so I deleted the file.

Windows 10 pro here, so the specific location may be different.

/localdisk/users/<your username, no brackets>/appdata/local/packages/Microsoft.MicrosoftSolitaireCollection_<gobbledegook>localstate/userdata/gameprogress

Go to the numbered subdirectory (not the public or default one) - that's your account.

You're looking for the .ark files for the games that aren't working. I deleted Pyramid.ark - it fixed my problem.

Worth a try if nothing else is working.

Go to add remove programs

Apps

Scroll down to Microsoft Solitaire and hit reset.

clears your record but game will load without a problem as guest if you wish

Hi,

Based from the error message you've received after running the Windows apps troubleshooter, this may be an issue with the Windows Store cache. We suggest that you manually reset it. Here are the steps:
1. Press Windows+ Rkeys to open the run command box.
2. Type WSReset, then try launching Store and sign in.
Once done with the reset, kindly search if there are any updates available for the game. Refer to Check for updates for apps and games from Windows Store for the steps.

Didn't work for me either.

I've tried all I feel at all comfortable with trying - I don't see well enough for this to be easy, and I'm not going to do a full re-install just for a few games. But the problem for me began with a Windows 10 update on August 11th, since which time I can't even get past the blue opening page; nothing I've seen here gives me any confidence at all that Microsoft as yet understands what they've managed to get wrong, and until they can do that there's no chance of them putting it right.

Let's try restarting the BITS service. Here are the steps:
1. Press and hold (or right-click) the Windows logo button on the taskbar and then select Command Prompt (Admin).
2. Select Yes when the User Account Control box appears.
3. Type the command:
net stop bits
1. Restart your computer**.**
2. Launch Command Prompt and enter the command**:**
net start bits
1. Restart your computer.
Once done with these steps, try uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Refer to How to uninstall and reinstall a game on Windows 10 for the steps.
