Malicious Software Removal Tool in Win10 Home won't run

I am running Windows 10 Home 64bit. I used to run the Malicious Software Removal Tool, but, all of a sudden, it doesn't run any more.

I've downloaded the most up to date version available from the MS website.

I've tried running it as Admin as well.

But, the tool just doesn't run.

Any ideas, please?

    Hi Wayne.

    I've done what you suggest in your post: used the net user administrator active/yes command.

    This now allows me to log in as Admin, but the desktop is completely different. So, from my point of view, I'm not at the same place, if you know what I mean?

    Because, my question would be, what's the point of me setting myself up as the Administrator, in the first place then?

    And I couldn't see all the items that were on my normal desktop.

    However, I will try that again, and see what happens.

    RikDatta,

    Reboot and see if your desktop is normal or not.  If not, open an elevated command prompt and type

    net user administrator active/no to  reverse the command you previously entered.

    Modification:

    The article previously cited  uses this command:  net user administrator /active:nowith a colon after the word active and before the word no.

    Hi Wayne.

    I ran the net user administrator /active:yes command, as you suggested.

    And I get to sign in as an Admin.

    I tried to run the tool manually, and got the same result. In other words, it just doesn't run.

    If I use the MRT command in the 'run' box', then I get exactly the same message: 'This app has bee blocked by your system administrator.'

    So, no difference.

    And you can see, below, that I am logged in as an Administrator:
