Linx 1020 tablet will not work after Windows Update

Yesterday evening I updated my Linx 1020 tablet via Windows Update.  Three updates were downloaded and installed, which I have listed below. (N.B. for the benefit of Microsoft Support my Link 1020 came pre-installed with Windows 10 and is still under manufacturer's warranty)

1) Update for Windows Defender

2) Cumulative Update for Windows 10

3) Insyde Firmware update  (this required a restart)

After Windows downloaded and installed the updates I was required to restart so I opted to update and reboot.  My Linx 1020 shut down normally and the Linx logo display as it started to reboot.  However, after this point the screen remained black and no matter what I tried I could not start my tablet.  The orange power light also does not display when on mains power.  Prior to shut down my Linx 1020 was 97% charged and on mains power.

Since yesterday I have tried repeatedly to boot my Linx 1020 to no avail.  To all intents and purposes my Linx 1020 is dead and it is my belief that one or more of the Windows updates is responsible for this rather than a fault with my Linx 1020.  The most probable culprit is the Insyde Firmware update as this required the restart.

I have read on the LinxTablet.co.uk forum that other Linx tablet owners have experienced a similar issue after performing a Windows Update.

I am waiting for a reply from Exertis (Linx support) regarding this issue but as the evidence clearly points towards an issue with Windows Update I would be grateful for a response from Microsoft Support, setting out how Microsoft intends to help Linx owners resolve this issue.

To reiterate: my Linx 1020 tablet is dead and cannot boot due to a fault with Windows Update!!

    I was advised to install it from this page http://support.linxtablets.com/KnowledgeBase/Win10CreatorsUpdate/

    it killed my tablet. Rang them and got told to chase it up on my

    open support log by email

    stil waiting to hear back

    So did you use the tool before doing the update as suggested?

    They instructed me to use the tool before doing anything with the tablet so straight after set up! 

    It has killed my linx 1020 absolutely lifeless

    Does anyone know if there is a way to re-flash the bios in a sense?

    Good day,

    Thank you for all the assistance from the support community!!!  With your assistance; I got mine working - and I got rid of it. 

    I assume most people will react badly to my decision; but so be it. 

    I've taken this as my last eyeopener. I got rid of all my devices that runs or makes use of Microsoft and their dodgy products. 

    The big A might sound more expensive in the short run; but after a few months... I WILL NEVER LOOK BACK!!! 

    There are enough things in life that stress you out; I don't need something I buy at a premium - and then I'm stuck with endless misery. 

    I'm very happy to be rid of the never-ending updates, issues and glitches - whilst MS basically gives you the middle finger. 

    Good luck to the rest of you! And if you have any negative comments; get yourself the ultimate MS product: the X-Box One!!! 

    Enough said... 

    And in the 1 in a trillion chance that someone from Microsoft perhaps reads this: you are a giant, and run a monopoly - but somewhere your lack of product, program- and interphase testing and especially bad after-sales service will catch up to you!
