That is a popular strategy - just install security updates (the Group B folks)
I am still running a MOS 6502 over here so I have never seen that KB in real life and now understand it does come up as a security update (but I will never see it). Maybe somebody will buy me a nice i7 one of these days.
It could be that there are some security fixes in it or MS has just labeled it like that since they KNOW many folks have adopted the "security updates only" strategy.
It took MS months to figure out a solution to Windows Update that we (the community) figured out back in August and then they just distilled our findings, solutions and ideas into their own KB.
Looks like it is time for the community to figure out the best solution to this new problem too - hopefully just uninstalling those 2 updates is a good solution but anybody can come up with other ideas too!
