Windows 7 annoying "Unsupported Hardware" pop ups

Not trying to offend you mBardos76, but I'd prefer that MS comes up with the fix and I don't see MS anywhere on that link.  Who knows what is being loaded onto my computer from github.  And when you say you are getting updates, how sure are you that MS is actually writing any updates.  According to Gates, they are no longer servicing 7 or 8 when using these new chips.  I assume that means their engineers are not looking to fix any bugs or security issues for us.  Who knows what your getting from MS unless the all knowing Gates fills us in, which apparently they have absolutely no intentions of doing.  And how long do you think it will take him to fix your fix.  I think we should wait to do away with this thread until MS gets involved.

Here's a thought. Suppose you have setup your domain PCs to get their windows update from WSUS, through group policy, so deviation from this is not an option. Unless the WUFUC patch is so big and heavy such that it changes the entire Windows Update application of the local PC to have it get updates from an undisclosed source on the internet, mimicking the exact behaviour of the local Windows Update app, including where it's getting their updates from, then I would say it's worth trying WUFUC since Microsoft is not releasing an update to this issue anytime soon.

A patch that would do all of the above would be several MBs big and akin to installing a service pack on the local PC. So I think I will give WUFUC a trial and monitor for any unauthorised access to funny internet locations from the particular PC updated (firewall logs).

This is just another Microsoft ploy to force people into using Windows 10. I just loaded Windows 7 Pro over Windows 10 on a new i7 7700k, Gygabyte K5 gaming motherboard. 2-19-2018

I had very little problem doing windows update. There was about 200 windows updates and 8 optional updates. I did the updates in batches of about 30. When I had a failure (about 6), I did that update manually. This computer and all 3rd party software run fine. Much faster than when running Windows 10.

Yes, I get the annoying message about compatibility on each restart. If you remember DR-DOS, it's just another MS fake problem. Before windows there was DOS for disk operating system. Microsoft DOS was loaded and then windows on top. A competitor wrote DR-DOS and it was less expensive. Microsoft added a warning to the windows installer that stated something like "Windows may not run correctly with DR-DOS".

Not true, but because people believed Microsoft, the writers of DR-DOS were forced out of the market.

If Microsoft wants me to run Windows 10 then I need a version without the spyware, Cortana, memory hogging built in programs, and have control over updates.

It's a bitch session because that's all we can do.  There's no fix other than trying to delete the latest update you got from MS.  That may or may not stop the popup.  I can tell you that I did nothing via the software and last month it finally stopped popping up, just out of the blue.  Maybe there's a timer on it, not sure.  Other than that, we're all stuck with MS, thus, the bitch session.
