Msvcp140.dll missing

I just installed the WordPress app but it will not start because it says the MSVCP140.dll is missing.

Where can I get its replacement?

Do not worry we will help you with this issue.

This issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ missing system files. Try the troubleshooting steps below and check if it helps.

**Step 1:**I suggest you to download and install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 and check if it resolves the issue.

**Step 2:**Also, I suggest you to run SFC scan and check if it helps.

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. If a Windows Resource Protection (WRP) file is missing or is corrupted, Windows may not behave as expected.

Follow the below steps:

  1. Right click on the Start button, click on Command Prompt (Admin).
  2. Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit Enter.
  3. After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.

    Same here, started having problem April 26, 2017 - yesterday. Confused because I'm seeing two different links for a "fix" but do not know which to use. Running 7, 64 bit. Any help here? Everything seems to be OK, so I don't know even know which program(s) are not running.

    I just started having this problem the morning of April 27, 2017.  I noticed that a few replies here from people with the same problem apparently also started having this problem on or about April 26 or April 27th 2017.  Has Microsoft made some changes in their code?    I've tried the SFCSCAN process; it did not find anything and apparently did not fix anything.  How can this be solved?
