Total time is wrong for Microsoft Solitaire Event Challenges

The timer for each dealt hand is generally okay, but the problem is that the time posted for the next deal is based on the last deal when the game is returned to Home and exited between games. This gives the effect of adding elapsed time to the next deal.

I just played 20 hands of the event in just over an hour and 20 minutes and then exited to Home and then exited Solitaire. I went to lunch and ran an errand. I came home, started Solitaire and the event and looked at the Leaderboard. My time was still correct. I played my 21st game and it was completed in 2 minutes and 31 seconds. I then looked at the Leaderboard again, and now my time was displayed as over 2 and half hours, affecting my placement on the Leaderboard.

This is clearly a bug and is easily correctable. If it is true that 200,000 or more players participate in each event, then it is unfortunate that Microsoft doesn't address this long-standing issue. Like many players, I am challenged to achieve a high final ranking, but this bug defeats that possibility unless I start the event and plug on with every one of the thirty (sometimes fewer) hands dealt.

It is bush league scoring.

I wish I could say this is an isolated event but it isn't.  There are some days I will stretch my play over the course of the day.  Do the Expert first and come back and do the easiest games later.  No matter the order, some days it seems my place and time elapsed are fine.  Other days, I might play for 30 minutes and totally close out the game, close out the program or may even lose the game and  hit the home button.    Today as an example I had a 4th place position based on my score and total time played was 24 minutes plus or minus.  Just went back to play and my time logged is over 5 hours.  WTF!  I'm really tired of it.  Especially since I pay good money for the subscription.

Somebody Fix It.  Or tell me what I am doing wrong.

I started the event the morning. I closed the app to work. I opened the app after 8 hours work, and the total time was 9 hours. It seems that the app is still counting the timer up even I closed it, and there is no good software engineers in MS for this game...

yes, it appears that MS engineers cannot trouble themselves with fixing this bug even though it is affecting many players. and it is at least good to know that i'm not imagining it.
