Total time is wrong for Microsoft Solitaire Event Challenges

Microsoft solitaire event timer bug

Lately while playing Microsoft Solitaire Events, the timer keeps running when I take a break from the game. Before taking a break I always finish whatever game I'm playing, and hit the "back" button to go back to the Solitaire home screen. Today I played for 29 minutes, took a break for about 3 hours, and came back and played one game that took 4 minutes. I checked my time after that game, it was 3 hours and 33 minutes. The timer was running the entire time of my break. This doesn't always happen, but it's happened about 4 times over the past few weeks. It's really disheartening to invest time in an event and have this happen. Please fix!

Follow these steps:

1. launch powershell
2. Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted
3. Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Restart your system

Note you will get warning about scripts, not sure if this helps or if this makes you more vulnerable to malware

At the bottom of my screen there are two options,  see challenges and see leaderboards.  As I play, I can opt to click on See Leaderboards and it will show my ranking. Hope this helps. I tried to re-create it but since there's no tournament today, it did not happen.

This same problem used to happen to me on occasion. Now it's happening with most of the events. It clocked me at 17.5 hours. This is absurd! The next person ranking after me is over 20 hours! No way these times are correct! 

Come on Microsoft ~ this issue has not been addressed since the initial post in 2017. The response at that time was completely unhelpful. 

I understand adding in the ad time and time actively moving in any way in the game. But when the game is closed, so the clock should be. 

One other question to the community, I don't get me ranking under completion of the event. How are you tracking your ranking as you play?

Eventhough I log out. Close the pc totally it happens again these days (January, 2019).

I even delete cookies.

I close entirely down.

And still,

when I return,

Microsoft has added 2-3-4 hours to my game.

This happened often in 2018, I yelled in a mail, and it went better,

but now it's bad again..as told.

What's the use in playing, then?

I can't sit straight playing all game in a row.

There's other things I have to do here at the house....

To experience this again..it kills me!!

I get tired.

I get irritated.

I get mad.

I played half an hour to begin with. When I'd played the first 6 games which usually are easy to solve ..and they were...ups!

and hour was added.

Then I had to accept more hours added later.

I left when I'd played 2:12 hours and left for 2 hours. I logged off, as told, closed entirely the pc...and voila...after one quick game of few minutes...I landed on 4 hours + some minuttes......and THAT IS WHY I SIT HERE NOW....and I know when I return to the game, it will still be counting.....
