You my friend, are awesome.
I realized when i read your post that it gotta be that. Because i activated Nvidia experiments a week ago to try out the new Nvidia Freestyle.

Hello.
I recently bought a Xbox One Wireless controller with the PC wireless adapter.
The problem is... after I logon into Windows 10 the controller connects fine ONE TIME, then, after turning it off and then turning it on again, the controller connects (light stay still) for about 1 or 2 seconds and then the controller turns off again, I even can use it in those 1 or 2 seconds, showing that it successfully connected, but then it disconnects. The problem is only solved after I logoff and login again into Windows (don't need to do a full reboot).
My wired Xbox 360 controller works like a charm. Why do the next gen controller of Microsoft doesn't work well with a system developed by the same company? When I google it, it's problems all around. And judging by the behavior, it's a driver problem, not hardware, cause if it was a defective unit a simple logoff-login wouldn't fix it (and lots of other people wouldn't have similar problems).
Thanks in advance.

Having the same problem. I've tried all the solutions on the forum and nothing has worked. Talked with Xbox chat support this morning and they said the controller was probably toast but they couldn't help me out due to a 90 day warranty.
Glad to hear Microsoft is continuing with garbage products that they do not support.

I purchased a wireless Xbox controller for Windows with adapter and for the past 3 months I've been getting frequent disconnects. I've tried every troubleshooting technique on the forum and still have been having almost constant disconnects this past month

I tried to initialize a device replacement via the device center but the controller's Serial number was not recognized.

Nice meeting you Conor! May I ask what are the troubleshooting steps that you have done already?

So first was to use the included extension usb cable to get the adapter far from any metal that would interfere and to reduce the distance to the controller (it's less than 12" away from the adapter). I then ensured the drivers were updated, tried updating the controller in the Win 10 Xbox panel under devices, then I went and changed the power settings for the adapter in Device Manager to "not shut down" when increased draw occurs. Nothing has worked.

Here's what we're going to do, we'll be needing to load up your account here. It would take around 2-3 minutes to fully check all the possible options to get this sorted out today. I'll be needing your utmost patience and cooperation with this one. Sounds like a plan?

Thank you for waiting, Honestly Conor, we do have 2 reason why issue is happening, possibly its an issue with the controller or the adapter. May I ask if you have tried another controller?
8:45 am
Me
No I don't have amother controller to test the adapter- though I did use a usb cable to connect the controller directly to a usb 3.0 port and removed the adapter (so it's essentially hard wired) and it still disconnected

So for sure the controller has issues - since it was purchased with the adapter bundle I figure it'd be easier to do a direct swap for the same item
8:47 am
Agatha C.
I understand your point, however we don't do have a swap option but we do have a replacement option that I can check if your controller is still I warranty

Agatha C.
May I ask what region you are in?

You are very welcome. And thank you for waiting. I know how much you want to have your controller replaced however upon checking the controller warranty for your region is only for 90 days. If we are going to have it replaced there will be charges. By the way, may I ask if you have contacted Amazon if they will be able to replaced it without charge?

They stopped selling the product and since it was past the 30 day mark when I gave up with troubleshooting they couldn't take the return

so if I have to replace the controller would I have to purchase it for full price?
9:04 am
Agatha C.
Honestly, usually it will be almost the same of a new controller price Conor
9:06 am
Agatha C.
If you want we can try to connect the controller via Bluetooth

I understand, but that seems totally unfair and shows that Microsoft does not back its products at all. I won't bug you any more Agatha but I will be posting this chat on the forums to warn other consumers not to purchase this product.
