Xbox One Wireless controller keeps disconnecting

Hello.

I recently bought a Xbox One Wireless controller with the PC wireless adapter.

The problem is... after I logon into Windows 10 the controller connects fine ONE TIME, then, after turning it off and then turning it on again, the controller connects (light stay still) for about 1 or 2 seconds and then the controller turns off again, I even can use it in those 1 or 2 seconds, showing that it successfully connected, but then it disconnects. The problem is only solved after I logoff and login again into Windows (don't need to do a full reboot).

My wired Xbox 360 controller works like a charm. Why do the next gen controller of Microsoft doesn't work well with a system developed by the same company? When I google it, it's problems all around. And judging by the behavior, it's a driver problem, not hardware, cause if it was a defective unit a simple logoff-login wouldn't fix it (and lots of other people wouldn't have similar problems).

    It's not Steam or GeForce Experience that cause a problem.

    The true reason why Xbox One Wireless Controller random disconnect with Official Xbox One Wireless Adapter plugged in. It was a Power Saver feature that cause a problem.

    To fix this issue.

    1. Right Click on Windows Start Button. Then click on "Device Manager".
    2. Go to "Network adapters". Then Right Click on "Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows". Then click on "Properties".
    3. Click on "Power Management" tab. Then uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and click OK.

    Hey all, I too suffer from the same problem....but if this is any help, hope it makes things a little easier. 

    When I plug my Xbox controller into my PC usb to charge, and then unplug to play....I lose connection and have to reconnect in my PC Bluetooth settings.

    I have noticed one thing though, when you're in Bluetooth settings, select " Add Bluetooth or other device"... There are a few options, the last one being " Everything else", with Xbox controllers mentioned there. When I try to connect using the " Everything else " option, my controller never shows up in the scan.

    But, if I select the first option to add just " Bluetooth" mice, keyboards, ect……. It works for me every single time, and my controller is found and connected! Sure it's a PITA, and it's certainly no fix for a stupid problem that needs to be addressed now. But it sure does help me.  Good luck!

    Yes, they will be hidden. How microsoft has nkf fixed this in 2 years is baffling

    you also will have to tick show hidden devices in device manager because they dont always show up otherwise

    Did you previously have a wireless xbox360 controer attachef or any 360.

    Delete that driver and oroblme solved
