Xbox One Wireless controller keeps disconnecting

I hit this problem today, I don't see this in any of the tips, but i suppose it could be hidden in all the questions.

 On a hunch i figured this could be the most likely thing turning off the adapter are the power-management settings. It seems i am right in my case, after doing this the adapter seems to stay on.

A good thing to check if you run into this: Please go into your Device Manager\Network Adapter\Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows\Power Management (tab). Un-check all the power management features (namely in my case Allow Computer to run off the device to save power). Note this could impact the life of your adapter since it will run more, but it seems quite useless in a state that when you are gaming it disconnects to save power.

Note to Microsoft\Xbox: given you manufacture the controller, and the operating system it might be a good idea to investigate this issue so that you don't drive customers way :) Pun intended.

Can I just point out how ridiculous it is that MS doesn't seem to even acknowledge problems like this. Where is that commitment to gaming Mr. Spencer? And don't even get me started on how all MS replies on these forums are templates.... I get that you're overworked but if you're gonna respond like that, why even bother? No response would literally be more helpful...

(The same conflict happens with the Oculus process running. Funnily enough, the Oculus package even includes a controller with one of these adapters, or at least it did at launch)

Swear to God, the day I see a viable alternative to Windows, I'm jumping ship.... I would recommend the same to any reasonable gamer out there. MS' commitment to PC gaming starts and ends with the Windows Store.

Oculus and steam csn run at same time.

This is not appropriate. There is not even a link as to where to go. We have spent time to reproduce the problem, offered to send you event logs, and nothing.

Can you at least provide a link WHERE we should go? This is NOT an isolated problem. Just BING it.

I recently bought a Xbox One Wireless controller with the PC wireless adapter.

The problem is... after I logon into Windows 10 the controller connects fine ONE TIME, then, after turning it off and then turning it on again, the controller connects (light stay still) for about 1 or 2 seconds and then the controller turns off again, I even can use it in those 1 or 2 seconds, showing that it successfully connected, but then it disconnects. The problem is only solved after I logoff and login again into Windows (don't need to do a full reboot).

My wired Xbox 360 controller works like a charm. Why do the next gen controller of Microsoft doesn't work well with a system developed by the same company? When I google it, it's problems all around. And judging by the behavior, it's a driver problem, not hardware, cause if it was a defective unit a simple logoff-login wouldn't fix it (and lots of other people wouldn't have similar problems).

This is driving me crazy. It happens with 2 different controllers (XBOX ONE and XBOX ONE PRO) and I even bought a SECOND adapter - same thing
