*15AUG2017*UPDATE: After receiving the promised "replacement controller" and asking if it was just the case for the controller or the case and the controller and being told that it was both. I found out the representative Len A. flat out lied to me about what I was getting, all to get a better survey, since all that I got, was the carrying case and nothing else. I talked to another agent after this, and they proceeded to try and go through everything again, and acted as if the prior agent was not in the wrong for lying to a customer. As it is, I still have my shoddy "Elite" controller that is extremely uncomfortable to hold since it is all bumpy from the expanded silicone.
*04AUG2017*UPDATE: I have since reached out to Microsoft support through the link provided below, and was told I would get a replacement controller. However, I am on my second Elite Controller at this point and it had the same issues after about 6 months of use. This is the one that I am currently awaiting the replacement, and hopefully the grips are not the same material!
I have had the Xbox One Elite Controller for only 6 months, and the grips have all but come off completely. There are no replacement parts for the grips on the controller, and according to your Support, my solution is to buy another controller... NO. I am also being told that my controller is out of warranty, since it is past 90 days, well isn't that just lovely, that you get to profit with a issue that is forcing others to buy another controller as the solution. I have been a supporter of Microsoft for quite some time, and I would understand the issue of the warranty, had it not been part of the controller that CANNOT be replaced. All I am asking for, is some new grips to adhere to the controller, or to send it in and get a replacement, of just the grips I don't care about getting a whole new controller to replace the grips... this is insanely shortsighted on Microsoft's part to have a grip that expands outside of the slot/groove for them. I have also included pictures to show off how the grips are extending past the grooves, and there is no way to "push" them back inside.

I have the same problem with my elite controller and Microsoft offers zero solutions other than purchasing a new controller. There are other companies however such as Scuff that sells replacement panels with their own grips on, this is probably our best bet with Microsoft not offering any help for their poor quality, over priced controller.
I have the exact same problem. The fact that their solution is to just buy another $150 controller is troubling.
Looks like your controller has been resting in water....do you sweat a lot from your hands?
My hands sweat a lot whilst pwning noobs...both my rubber grips have come off and are flapping like giant labia majoras in a stiff breeze.

Microsoft has announced they are making a new version of the Elite Controller. I dont know when its coming out but hopefully it doesnt have the stupid rubber that falls off.
I have 4 elite controllers and it has fallen off 3 of them. Im waiting for the redesigned one. I put the silicone covers on my two active controllers, costs 10 bucks each on amazon. Covers all that so it wont happen again, you can even rip the peeling off rubber then put the silicone cover on. I ran mine like thay for awhile. The covers feel relly good in hand and fit pretty good unless you have add on rubber sleeves on the joysticks. That will hit. You can trim the silicone cover or not run the rubber ends for the joysticks.
Wait. Dont buy too much for the Gen1 elite controller. Just the cover. Buy the new one when it comes out this year unless your just too mad to spend more money with them.
At least the xbox batteries last more than 2 hours. The PS4 controllers are always dead ( I have some of them)
I have had the same problem as well many times. I purchased my Elite controller the day it launched. To date I have gone through 6 controllers with this issue among others.
The main issue is the Rubber, while most and even the Microsoft employees believe it is the glue holding the rubber to the plastic. I have seen now in all 6 of my controllers that it is not an issue of adhesive but of the rubber itself. After more than 30 mins of play anyone and every ones hands will get warm. It is this warmth that causes the rubbers makeup to expand. after 4-6 months you will first start to see signs of the warping issues on the outer rubber parts where a persons hand is usually always touching (the other sides of the controller grips.
In the past I have gone back to the Microsoft store where I purchases my controller and shown them the issues where most but not all of the time they would give me a replacement. (note: they have also done this with my Microsoft Band 2 which suffered from issues of the same type rubber, and also swapped out my plug and play charge cable and batter on different occasions.) However more recently I have had a the same issue with my controller in November of 2017 and the store I purchased the controller refused to help me. I had to google this issue just ending up on Microsoft Xbox support live chat. After giving the serial number of the controller and such I was then given a case number and instructions to send in just the controller to the local warehouse Costing me an additional $40 CAD to ship it.
In the end I shipped the controller Monday morning in December of 2017 and on Thursday I received a Box containing a whole new Elite controller with all accessories and now I have an extra case laying around. But it is now Mid March of 2018 and the latest controller has already shown signs of a warp on the right top edge of the larger rubber. It is still usable and I feel the warp while playing but it is still comfortable for now however we all know this will not last long.
I have to ask Microsoft...
You marketed this as a durable controller tested by real gamers, How long did you let them test it for, 5 minutes?
What are you planning to do to solve this issue?
Why are you using such Unreliable and Cheap Rubber? Dense Memory Foam Might have worked better giving it a more padded feel and even a better grip.
Also I an unable to find evidence of this today but when announced there was to be a 1 year warranty on the controller this was part of the marketing behind the controller to show confidence in the controller durability. But now you go buy a new Elite controller In a Microsoft Store and you are told it only has a ONE month warranty.
