Minecraft Windows 10 Edition Lost Worlds

Hello All,

Recently, I have had troubles with my Minecraft Windows 10 Edition freezing up every 20 or so minutes. Since this was a huge nuisance, I contacted Microsoft support and they told me to do some things, including uninstalling Minecraft W10E. I asked the person twice to make sure my worlds would not be erased, and they said that they would not. I come to find out that after uninstalling it and reinstalling it, my worlds, my skin, and my server saves were gone. Is there any way that I could retrieve those lost worlds? I am not concerned about the skin or the server saves, but I am the worlds. Please tell me what I need to do if it is possible to get my worlds back again.

To better help you with your concern about the missing world in the game Minecraft, we recommend that you follow the steps below:

How to recover missing Minecraft world:

  1. Click the start button and search %appdata%.
  2. Find and enter the .minecraft folder.
  3. Find the saves folder and right-click it, there should be an option called restore previous versions.

If the issue persists after doing the steps provided above, we recommend that you submit a request regarding this matter on this link.

    I don't think this will help but if you go into the %localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\games\com.mojang\minecraftWorlds\ directory, you can back up the world folder and that should allow you to restore the world. If you have a newer version of minecraft win 10 edition or windows, you may not be able to restore the world folders because it save it as a mcworld file. like i said, that may not help.

    Something I just remembered is you open up Minecraft windows 10 edition, find the world in question, press the edit (pencil) icon, and scroll down to the bottom of the page, there are export, copy, and delete buttons. Press export and Minecraft will export it as a .mcworld file to the location you choose. Then you can import the world by pressing the import button (next to the create new button) and go to the location that you exported the world to and it will show up in the list of worlds.

    Hello. I have the same problem and when I pressed "Restore Previous Versions", it said no previous versions.
