Vista will no longer automatically update. Nothing I've attempted works to fix the issue.

AT LAST. A GREEN YOU ARE UP TO DATE!!!  I went thru each of these and installed all I could. (Only the IE9 one would not be found). Rebooted  and the updates said for windows and Microsoft update products and within 10 minutes got a green up to date😁😁😁. So shut auto updates off and will await next months journey. FYI. did them using Firefox browser too. YEAH!!

So glad some of you have had good luck.

Not so much on my end. I have a Toshiba P205D-S7436.

I've attempted trying to install recomended updates per this web site, not successful.

Additionally I learned today after attemtping to install 4 anti virus applacations, my Vista Home Premium is incompatible with current versions of their product. Don't know what to do next.

I'm very disappointed and still have naive hope MS is watching this response.

My attempting to call MS and my email has gone unanswered.

Actually, I spoke  prematurely. My Win 7 box fully updated- first time since last summer. My Vista box, at least did something, it indicated there are 31 updates available but it so far hasn't downloaded them. It tries and tries and tries.

It's really strange that both showed no signs of doing updates since last summer- then at the same time, both made an effort with one successful so far.

So to me, this is proof the problem is MS. Either they did this on purpose or some bug somewhere wouldn't allow it and they noticed all the chatter here and elsewhere and decided to fix it? And the problem started when they were pushing W10 on everyone?

This problem is worthy of an article in a computer magazine or web site.

This morning, my Vista box successfully did updates!

So, again, both my Win 7 and Vista machines turned on updating yesterday. I'd really love to know the full story behind this. And here, all this time, I thought I had done something to the computers to damage them- when it was MS all along- either purposefully or due to some system wide bug in their update system.
