Vista will no longer automatically update. Nothing I've attempted works to fix the issue.

Thank you VZ, you have saved me from the **** of the Wanna Cry virus !!

Just want to share how I made it done:

First of all, I change the settings of the Window Updates in the Control Panel  to " never check for updates",

    then I restart the computer.

I then download all VZ's 5 manual updates onto my desktop.

Then I start to run each of the 5 updates manually .

Until you have finish running all the 5 updates, you can then restart the computer to enable these 5 updates actually work.

The sequence to run these 5 updates depends on the condition of your computer AND to me,

I have the 1st update runs well but then I cannot get through the 2nd update.

So what I did was, I restart the computer after the 1st update and then go with the other updates instead the 2nd problematic one.

After all the rest of the updates are run, I go back to  the 2nd problematic update .

This time , probably the window vista has been properly triggered by the four updates, there is no more problem to run the 2nd update.

So after I am finished with all the 5 updates , I  run the updates for prevention of the Wanna Cry virus in microsoft MS17-010.

    Then restart the computer.

So my nightmare is gone now.

Thank you so much, VZ .

Manually downloading the updates in the revised 5/9/17 answer allowed me to automatically get an additional 27 updates that I was missing for my Vista 32-bit computer.  Thank you Volume Z !!!
