how can I reinstall VCRuntime140.dll on windows 10

This is the link that you want (need) as of 6/5/17, choose between the 32bit (x86) or the 64bit (x64) or just install both if you have a 64bit (x64) based system.

Hint: The 32 bit is the most commonly used for app and program development as it will run on both 32bit and 64bit PC's.

You need to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3 RC from the link supplied in the marked as answer reply to this thread, the 32bit version download and install of the data link library will be the most likely one that you will need, even if you are using a 64bit system, however, if the app that needs the file to run was developed for a 64bit OS only then you will need the 64bit version. You can install both versions on a 64bit system as a 64bit system will run both 32bit and 64bit apps and/or programs.

    I fixed the problem by trying to install the VC++ studio community version (because I thought such complete studio suite should have a way to solve the problem completely). When I run the VC++ installer, I get an error saying that I need to install this update first:

    which is Windows 8.1 Update for x64-based Systems (KB2919355)

    The link might suggest several different patches but I just select the KB2919355 patch which takes a while to download and install.

    After restarting the computer a few times to complete this installation, I can successfully install vc_redist.x64.exe now.

    Thx @RichardEiler i will reply with my answer asap. Ok i read the post and it rocked but can you explain how only the 2015 package will help when its 2017 and why would i need just one package from the past and not all the past ones. Sorry for my bad punctuattion and spelling im on tiny tablet this time.however,plz get back to me asap. ok i tried it it says that its already in my computer so it cannot install but if its in my computer WHY IS MY COMPUTER HAVING THIS PROBLEM.ok i deleted the old one i figured it out for some reason that package is on my computer,BUT ITS x84-32bit, MY OPRATING SYSTEM IS x64-64BIT,I THINK AFTER 2 YEARS ITS GONNA WORK RICHARD YOU RICH WITH AWESOMNESS AND KNOWLEDGE.ITS SAYING ANOTHER ONE OF THE SAME FILE IS STILL IN MY COMPUTER -_-.ok i didnt have time to finish last night and im finishing now hope this works :),um ok i deleted the vc_redist.x64 2015 versions located in my control panel remove option and in my file explorer and it still says anither version of it is in my computer!? ok so now im deleting and reinstalling all my old vc_redist packages why am i doing that,well because i figured out why all ive been having this problem all but like one of my vc_redist packages is oh idk 32FRIKIN BIT I HAVE 64BIT OPERATING SYSTEM YEASH THANKS SO MUCH.ok moment of truth lets test the baby.welp didnt work i officially give up im crying ive been trying to do this os long i come so close doesent work great just great thx alot world.
