Announcing: Homeschool pilot program for Office 365 Education

Hi everyone,

My name is Mike Tholfsen, and I am a Principal Program Manager for Office 365 Education, here to talk about a special offer for all homeschoolers today.

On November 14, 2016, we started a pilot program to make Office 365 Education available to homeschoolers across the United States.  This is a limited-time pilot to help us collect feedback and learn more on  how key education tools like Class Notebook, Forms, and Microsoft Classroom can work better and empower home educators and homeschoolers in the comfort of their own home.

Due to overwhelming demand of the pilot, we have already fillled up our inital set of spots.  We are trying to open up a few more in the coming weeks, but for now the pilot is closed.

If you’re already trying out the pilot and need help, we’ll be answering your questions right here, so please read on and post your inquires below.

How do I apply for the program?

No, we are piloting this program across devices.

    I have signed up for and been accepted to the Microsoft Office 365 Homeschool pilot program. I went through the set up procedure and received my welcome email. However, whenever I try to click any of the links to set up users/create accounts I receive the same message:

    Bad Request - Request Too Long

    HTTP Error 400. The size of the request headers is too long.

    This pops up whenever I click any of the links and seems to be associated with this address: https://portal.office.com/ and any variation such as https://portal.office.com/commerce/catalog.aspx

    I am grateful to Microsoft for making this Office365 available to my homeschool family.

    Can you please tell me how to access Microsoft Classroom. I am unable to find it on the Office 365 apps, and it isn't available when I go to the link I find from an online search.

    When I sign in with my HSLDA account, I get the error "This HSLDA ID is not valid or belongs to another person"  Reading the questions I am assuming I am getting this error because I am based in Canada?  Do you have plans to trial this with Canadian members?

    Yes, right now the pilot is limited ot the US only.  We may expand to Canada in the future
