Windows Live Photo Gallery replacement

I just saw your reply, thanks, did you find that Windows Essential Photogallery had the same features as the old Windows Photo Gallery?  I will try it, however I have yet to switch Windows 10, never felt the need so far, but will do it when you reply "yes" to my above question.

I have received  several replies, however none that have helped in my search for a way to replace Windows Photo service that has been discontinued by Microsoft.

This is a huge problem for me as several of my daily activities relied on locating and sending photos.  I have no idea where to turn in order to continue those activities.  I believe Microsoft expects one to reorganize the photos in files or other, I have seen it done on youtube but the configurations are different than they are in my photos.

In any event, I wish to thank all those who have answered with a suggestion for a replacement.

NO ! this is not normal nor was it in the PG of vista and 7. I believe Microsoft does these little things to discourage people from still using these apps that they have stopped supporting. Same with the Alleged replacement app for windows media center also. it is absolutely useless compared to the function(s) of windows media center. there really is nothing it is good for except "maybe" to play a DVD movie. Other than that it has no function at all. But, thats all one can/would expect from Microsoft anyway. They have nor have they ever had any regard for their customers wishes or suggestions to start with. Plainly put, there is no work around or fix for the edit function in PG any longer.  As planned by the powers that be .And it gets worse: in some desktops such as Dell, when/if you are able to download and use PG and live mail still., when you open your picture folder all you see is icons,no actual photos until you preview them. Which would indicate that some manufacturers are collaborating with Microsoft to make sure that these apps we've all used and loved that are actually functional no longer will function.

 they have even gone so far as to require places such as oldapps.com to fix there site so you can still get to the download pages for these apps but they will not load or open ! welcome to Microsoft. It's our way or no way !
