Windows Live Photo Gallery replacement

Does anyone have a replacement suggestion for Windows Live Photo Gallery? Been using it for a long time. Over 60,000 pictures all with tags. Had to do a clean install of Windows 10. When I went to reinstall Windows Live Photo Gallery it states that as Jan 10th, it's no longer supported and I cannot reinstall it. So what's out there that would recognize my tags? Tried ACDSEE but it doesn't see my tags. Was hopping that there would be a seamless switch as I'm not going to live long enough to re-tag 60000 pictures.

As of this morning, February 4, 2017,

Windows Essentials 2012 download offline installer (Microsoft site) is still available.

Windows Essentials 2012

Support Ended January 10, 2017

Although support has ended, Windows Essentials 2012 programs will continue to work.

Windows Essentials 2012 contains the following programs:

Photo Gallery (Windows Photo Gallery 2012 Build 16.4.3528.331)

Movie Maker (Version 2012 Build 16.4.3528.0331)

Windows Live Writer

Windows Live Mail (Version 2012 Build 16.4.3564.1216)

OneDrive

Windows Essentials 2012 Installer installs Windows Essentials 2012 Version 16.4.3528.0331

The package shows in installed programs as Windows Essentials 2012.

It would be wise to download and save a copy of Windows Essentials 2012 (Offline Installer) to a separate disk as backup.

    Hello Jeff,

    I understand how you feel, as I too have used Photo Gallery over the years to manage my photos. As it has been discussed in this thread, Windows Photo Gallery is no longer supported, but still works in Windows 10, and the offline installer still works. Except for a few online dependent functionalities which are no longer working (upload to Flickr, Facebook integration and geotag lookup), photo editing and tagging still works. A benefit of Windows Photo Gallery is that is stored much of the metadata (captions, ratings, tags) back to the photo files. You will find in this thread also, some third party apps and ways to access this information as well as in Windows File Explorer and OneDrive, so your investment in time has not been lost.

    Only Microsoft would discontinue a product and not even offer (at a price even) a replacement with comparable / compatible features!  I too have thousands of tagged photos (hours of work) that no longer function.  Very aggravating!

    Yes , the same features. I'm a professional photographer. Mosty I use Photoshop. Also to archive my 113587 pictures. But when I have a simple thing to do, I use the very smart and quick application Microsoft Essential Photogallery. Nothing wrong with it. And a lot better than the free photo application you become with Windows 10. Download it, so long it is possible.
