As I mentioned in my last post, the update check completed but now the downloading of the updates seems to be hanging. Green bar just keeps rolling along same as it did when checking for updates.
Windows Update Hangs
As of today 12 April 2016 Window 7 SP1 hangs in searching for updates. Unlike other postings in 2015, their is no Orchestrator service in services.msc. Prior to today Windows update was working fine. Why is this happening? Is there any other way to get these updates. I have restarted the OS to no benefit.

2016-04-13T00:02:37+00:00 I downloaded GWX about two months ago and it works great. I always had WU set to just notify me of any updates-not download or install but because of how long it now checks for updates on every boot up it was making my CPU 50 percent or higher for a few hours starting a few weeks ago. Now that I turned off "auto update check" my CPU is normal again. Will just manually check every month before I go to bed.

2016-04-13T01:05:25+00:00 @BobMcGann only...
Is it the same computer - not necessarily the same problem or Windows version - as in this previous thread of yours? => http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-windows_install/running-upgrade-install-setupexe-as-administrator/b0bc48b9-847c-4c98-a396-e1dc94733593

2016-04-13T03:14:51+00:00 im having this same problem ever since afternoon. Never had this issue and windows update always worked fine for me. It was doing its daily check up automatically and i noticed that when i went to my windows update window...the updates box told me i was already up to date. I knew that wasnt right because everyday i have optional lists and 2 other important items that werent installed. I just wanted to wait until patch tuesday to install everything at once since i know security updates get released today.
EDIT: Actually it resolved on its own. I ended up waiting an hour to check for updates and they listed everything and i was able to install them usually and my fan stopped running constantly. Like the other poster said, I suggest waiting even if it may take a long time. Perhaps its just a bug in microsoft itself since my friend was having the same issue.
