Windows Update Hangs

As of today 12 April 2016 Window 7 SP1 hangs in searching for updates. Unlike other postings in 2015, their is no Orchestrator service in services.msc. Prior to today Windows update was working fine. Why is this happening? Is there any other way to get these updates. I have restarted the OS to no benefit.

That Link Is Dead.(it really is because it no longer brings you to the Microsoft Update Download. JUST instructions on how to run the regular windows update! nice job Microsoft......

Or go to uninstall a program and use Office fix program option.

2016-04-19T23:13:52+00:00 As RobertSerb said, that link is dead. Gets you nowhere. And as for using Office to search for updates, that didn't work either. I'm afraid to try to uninstall it because it's Office 2010. When I installed in on my second computer last year, had some problems with good old MS and my license. I knew I was entitled to install in on another computer, but they gave me a little trouble. Finally got it worked out, but I hesitate to uninstall and try reinstalling with how they acted before.

2016-04-20T10:10:57+00:00 Finally resolved the issue with being able to check for Office updates. After once again wasting my time calling Microsoft (they just couldn't seem to understand that there should be an option to get updates for other products), I kept looking online for solutions. Found a site that said to do the following: in Internet Explorer, list microsoft.com as a trusted site and add it to compatibility view settings. I tried just those two things first, but still no results. Then I decided to change my default browser to IE. That worked. I finally have the option back to get Office updates. Switched back to Chrome as my default and all is finally well.
