Display Dock for Continuum (Firmware)

Display Dock doesn't appear in Gadgets on my Lumia 950, and I can't updated the dock with latest firmware. How do I fix this?

    Display Dock device to connect next-generation Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL smartphones with full-sized keyboards and large desktop displays, with seven different ports, appears like your typical, lowly dock. However, Microsoft marketers have pointed out that the dock can turn a powerful Lumia smartphone into a near-fully functioning PC.

    This problem is mentioned in the feedback app actually severall times allready.

    I noticed this problem with the first redstone insider build for the 950 that I have over here. Now running with the 1004 redstone build the problem still exists

     mrTablet63is right with saying that we can't update the firmware on the HD-500 display dock due this error/problem

    On my Lumia 950Xl the redstone build 1004 is running as well. And now - after three months - my display dock arrives and I can't update the firmware. The gadget-app don't show the HD-500.

    (Rajeshwari, please excuse my jumping in but I answered this on another thread today so I thought I'd copy my response here)

    mrTablet63, it turns out that the Gadgets app is not working on recent Insider builds. We are aware of this and working on getting it fixed ASAP. I don't have an ETA yet for the fix, but it will soon be added to the known issues list in the Insider Hub and included in the next Insider blog post. When we do have an ETA we'll update it there.

    Note that if you have a dock which has already been updated to the latest firmware (version 4 - we maintain that info here) then this will not affect you. If you have a dock that has not been updated then you may experience some minor issues with USB-C stability, as these are what was fixed in the version 4 release. Dirk, while that probably applies to you, know that I ran version 3 of the firmware for a long time and never noticed any issues so my hope is that you'll be fine until we get the app updated. In the meantime if you have access to a 950 or 950XL running a non-Insider build you could connect that to the dock and it should download and install the version 4 firmware.

    I hope this helps. Again, we are working on getting this fixed ASAP!
