for all you guys that need to restore your zune. ya need to do a 20 gigs partition with win 7 ultimate updated +.net framework all versions installed + zune software 4.8 + firmware update installing msi (x86 or x64)  :

  1. make a 20 gigs partition on  hdd
  2. .install win 7 ultimate edition 
  3. install net framework 3.5.1 + all win 7 updates.

4 . install zune software 4.8 and zune firmware msi- (x86 obviously in 32 bit or -x64 in 64 bit system)

  1. plug the zune to computer. it will be downloading the last version of zune drivers
  2. start zune software and update screen will be displaying in main zune softs screen . thats it. 

when you double click zune  firmware-x86 or x64 the msi package install FW .cab files in: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Zune\Firmware Updates 

and firmware update.xml emulates online mode for restoring ;D 

EDIT: FIRMWARE OFFLINE RECOVERY WILL WORK ONLY ON WIN 7.

    There is more than enough information in the last 52 posts to restore the firmware on your Zune. Read them all, the methods have evolved over time, so do read them all before attempting. People are posting on this their attempts and results, how they succeeded in restoring their firmware, to  make up for Microsoft's short comings.

    Francisco above all has more than enough responded to people when they haven't been successful with the methods. He isn't paid and has created packages and methods for others to make it a easy as possible. He doesn't get enough thanks, thank you Francisco.

    If you want a simple step by step manual and package I suggest you approach Microsoft with your demanding posts and requests. Anyone with a component level of IT knowledge, technical skill will succeed with the information over the last few pages. I know it isn't a NEXT ,NEXT NEXT, FINISH method, you have to understand a little about your machine and what you are trying to get it to emulate.

    Francisco may meet your request, though I believe its time he started charging for his time!

    you made me laugh a lot pal. you can write plc toolkits but you cant unbrick your zune reading  52 replies...

    that program its for zune firmware server emulation. it restores all zune last version firmwares ( to put it simple ... for all zune models . zune soft its MANDATORY TO UNBRICK ZUNE DEVICES . there is no other method .... sorry ).

    read .txt included . its DUMB PROOF .

    i discovered the "beta method" on win 7 and it worked for me  .... i am not a space engineer but i can read dude . lolololololool

    It is appreciated that you did this but I have a port error and I don't see why when I have reset my ports. I seen you did this on Windows 10 but I don't see how when the steps have been followed.

    i cant help ya if ya cant be more specific (error 8f blablabla) . upload pictures . maybe its like the trouble with BetrayerofHope.... any "syntax error" or something. there is no guide like "in case of problem #8cosomething#  do this.... in case of the 8ksomething do that "   .

    maybe ya need to update zune drivers .. . or reinstall zune soft ... the server adress 127.0.0.1 in system hosts file ....  dunno.

    maybe reinstalling windows....
