    on any windows :

    to put it simple :

    1. install zune software
    2. on control panel enable .net framework 3.5 and 4
    3. open c: drive ... then windows .... next system 32... next drivers ... next etc folder .... look for hosts file... ricght click on hosts file and open with : select notepad ( you can also use text editor but its simple with notepad. now write 127.0.0.1 resources.zune.net. at the files bottom .click on file...save... and close hosts file
    4.  download mega.nz package that i uploaded. unpack and paste in any folder that you want ( some use C:/abyss web server to make it easy as posible)

5.look for abyss.conf in abyss folder and open with notepad. edit the line "root" for the location of your abyss folder (c:/ abyss for example... again lol)

6 . double click to execute abyss program

7 . last step... with abyss running connect zune device and run zune soft... voila ... it will be restoring firmware.

there are some images in zune firmware restoring package that will help ya. i wrote it as simple as i can describe dude .  edit: 127.0.0.1 resources.zune.net (use spacebar instead of tab. it was a problem that happended to betrayerofhope. hope its clear for ya now ;D . cheers

Okay, Francisco... I will try that. I did not look at those screen captures because I didn't think I would understand them, but I will try my best. I'll let you all know what happens!

    1. make a 20 gigs partition on  hdd
    2. .install win 7 ultimate edition
    3. install net framework 3.5.1 + all win 7 updates.

4 . install zune software 4.8 and zune firmware msi- (x86 obviously in 32 bit or -x64 in 64 bit system)

    1. plug the zune to computer. it will be downloading the last version of zune drivers
    2. start zune software and update screen will be displaying in main zune softs screen . thats it.

Hi, again Francisco... Above is your first listing of the steps needed, but apparently some of these steps are no longer necessary. Please, what is the current listing of steps in order to restore a zune? (BTW, I did look at those screen shots, but they are too small for me to read and understand what is going on.)
