error code 0x8007007A

I'm sorry that no satisfactory explanation of this error or resolution for it has been posted in this thread despite its age. This is most likely because the error is program-specific and independent of the operating system, so the question should have been asked in the program forum, not the one for a particular version of Windows. The original poster wasn't to know this, of course, but the moderators involved should have moved the question to the right place.

This error arises because you tried to send a message including a photo album. This feature no longer works as a result of changes at OneDrive, where the photo album would have been stored had the changes not taken place. This means that the message is now stuck in your outbox and may be preventing subsequent messages from being sent. The outbox is below the account folders in the folder pane:

Remove any unsent messages from the outbox, then compose a simple test message with a unique subject and send it to yourself. Post any new error message in your reply.

You'll find some alternative suggestions for sharing pictures in this article: Avoid 'photo email' and send photos by email

The error has nothing to do with the account being used to send messages, so removing and re-adding this account will have no effect on it. Nor will repairing the installation, which ensures that all the program files are present and correct. There's nothing in the error message to suggest that there was anything wrong with them in the first place.

I sent this reply last May and I still think it may be the solution for a lot of people:

I too went through steps suggested above.  Nothing worked.  My son figured out the problem for me finally!!  Do not go to your pictures folder to select pictures to send.  Go to your mail page and start an email.  Then select "insert", then click on the "attach file" paper clip.  THEN go to your pictures, select it/them, click "open" in that dialog box, then the box will disappear and you will be back in your email.  Where the paper clip is has opened into "photo album tools" with layouts of how you can arrange your pictures into an ALBUM.  Do not allow this to happen.  If your little jpg images change into an album, showing the pictures below the line, go back and click that paper clip again.  It will revert to the jpg image(s).  Then send your email and see if THAT doesn't work.  The reason it didn't work before, my son figures, is that SkyDrive, somehow connected to the email, is no longer a viable vehicle for sending the pictures. Somewhere it says SkyDrive has changed to OneDrive (or something like that).  I can't believe this huge problem has such a simple fix.

    Hi

I do have exactly the same problem and error code and description.

I have tried 2 different  servers with the same result.

I did back date the computer twice to different recovery dates , I did remove and reinstalled my e-mail account,

I do not want to install any unknown programs to my computer.

My operating system is windows 7 pro.

Please help I do need the e mail desperately for my business.

Wow, I'm glad that works for you, but it doesn't work for me. As my children said when they were very young, "you lucky duck".

YES this worked for me. Had unsent emails with pics attached, and NO emails would send. Unchecked "convert messages to photo emails when adding photos".

Located in Options , Mail, Compose tab.

Then DELETED all unsent in the outbox. Now all worked as before, hop it keeps working! Good luck!
