Only updates that include the 64 info in the title of the update are being allowed to successfully update. The code was 6BB, then changed to a #d one, but I didn't get that written down. I've tried the download of the Repair.bat as administrator and that didn't work. I've run

Troubleshooters that have come up and they think they've fixed everything, but still only a few updates can download. This has been true since February. I thought they were downloading as I've re-tried updating previously and eventually the update window will say "no new important updates"--but those still had failed...updater just seems to have given up on them.

Help! I bought this hard drive for $800 last year to replace the one with Vista that was always difficult. That plus the tech's hours make this an expensive mistake. Does anyone know how to fix this without reloading Win 7?

    Both sent me to the MS Office Diagnostics on my Start menu.

    I'm afraid of using the slipstick one as the tech who installed told me he'd had to do some "maneuvering" to get my Outlook to stay the same & it's important in my work to keep that the same.

What "maneuvering" did the tech have to do? It could be the cause of your problem.

    PA Bear: Yes, that's what I did.

    Tech "maneuvered" by forcing Windows 7 to allow the same appearance of my Windows Mail. He said a lot of people didn't like the new way it operates. However, I WAS getting Windows updates after he did this for some months.

    Maybe you should take it back to the tech & see if he can fix your update problems, too? Good luck! Over & out...

    Note: The computer should NOT be connected to the internet or any local networks (i.e., other computers) in its current state. All business & personal data (including online banking & credit-card passwords) should be considered at-risk, if not already compromised.

    So anyone who cares to answer.

    My best guess is that not having my Office 2007 updates download is not a terrible loss.

    The Windows 7 64 bit ones do, as well as a couple of other categories.

    Everything aside from the Office 2007 update downloads seems to be working fine.

    I've heard some here say they aren't taking downloads anymore, or at least quite selectively.

    I don't have an Office 2007 disk.

    Any thoughts?
