Only updates that include the 64 info in the title of the update are being allowed to successfully update. The code was 6BB, then changed to a #d one, but I didn't get that written down. I've tried the download of the Repair.bat as administrator and that didn't work. I've run

Troubleshooters that have come up and they think they've fixed everything, but still only a few updates can download. This has been true since February. I thought they were downloading as I've re-tried updating previously and eventually the update window will say "no new important updates"--but those still had failed...updater just seems to have given up on them.

Help! I bought this hard drive for $800 last year to replace the one with Vista that was always difficult. That plus the tech's hours make this an expensive mistake. Does anyone know how to fix this without reloading Win 7?

    Let's see what ThrashZone and ElderN have to say about this before I suggest anything further.

    Meanwhile...

    1. Does the Win7 disk say "DELL" or OEM on it or...?
    2. When (exact date) was KB3114541 installed according to Installed Updates(not Update History)?
    3. What Kaspersky application was installed before you installed Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 in January of this year?
    4. Did you install the previous Kaspersky application or did Seattle Computers install it for you?
    • If you upgraded Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 to Kaspersky Internet Security 2016, we wouldn't expect to see Kaspersky's program folder to have a Created date of 13 January 2016. If you've always had a Kaspersky application installed since you purchased the refurbished computer, we'd expect the folder to have a Created date of 03 November 2015 (the day you purchased the computer).

    1. Purchased from Seattle Computers on Lake City Way
    2. "Microsoft Registered Refurbisher" is all it says on the sheet alerting me to it being refurbished--no date.

    4. All my programs were installed on this computer by Seattle Computers tech. I have had Kaspersky for several years. I believe January 2016 must have been the renewal date this year.
    5. Internet Explorer 11 installed 1/14/15 (before I bought the computer).
    6. I did not own the computer until 11/15, so no other version of Internet Explorer that I'm aware of, though pre-refurbishment, there probably was but this is not in the installed updates. No other version of Explorer is in the Installed Updates.
    7. Office 2007 was installed on the refurbished computer when I bought it. The Windows 7 Professional disk that came with the computer says "Licensed for use with the Registered Refurbisher Program. www.microsoft.com/registeredrefurb

    7b) I got the Windows 7 disk with the refurbed computer (which was just the hard drive as I already had my own monitor, keyboard, and mouse) from Seattle Computers when I purchased it.

    7c Yes, I followed your instructions and found KB3114541, KB3114741, and/or KB3114748 listed in Installed Updates, not Update History.

    1. Yes, I just upgraded Firefox to 48.0 just now.

    Select PROPERTIES: What's the CREATED date displayed on the resulting GENERAL tab?

    1. What anti-virus application or security suite was installed BEFORE you installed the Kaspersky suite earlier this year (I assume), was your subscription (if any) still current, and did you uninstall it before you installed the Kaspersky suite?

    5a. Open Installed Updates.

    5b. Find the listing for Internet Explorer 11 and tell me when (exact date) it was installed.

    1. If you can remember => Were you running Internet Explorer 8, Internet Explorer 9, or Internet Explorer 10 [<= PICK ONE] before you installed Internet Explorer 11?
