Hey all,
we have started rolling out a new firmware update for Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL: 01078.00038.16025.390xx. Key improvements in this release include:
The availability of this update may depend on your phone model, region or network service provider. At the time of writing this post, the update is available mainly for selected open market variants, but the rollouts should continue gradually during the coming days and weeks.
Windows 10 is updating continuously, so make sure you follow all the update notifications that appear on your phone. To check for updates, you can also tap Settings > Update & security > Phone update > Check for updates. For detailed update instructions, see.
If you are a Windows Insider user, see. Note: this does not affect general firmware availability.
To read more about the new features included in Windows 10 Mobile, see What's New in Windows 10 Mobile.

I have been unable to get software or firmware updates since I purchased the 950. The only way I received the 1st update to software was to take the phone to the Microsoft Store. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
I have a single sim 950 XL bought from Amazon, I think it is a Hong Kong variant. It picked up the firmware and is now stuck in airplane mode ( won't/can't toggle off ). Tried everything for many hours including Device Recovery Tool and many re-sets to no avail, just restarts in airplane mode. Google search comes up I am 'SOL'. I am in the U.S. and with T-Mobile , it worked great till the firmware update when a message said 'sim settings have changed and needs to reboot' That was it...

TiM-E-D, although your issue might be related to an update, please, create a new thread and state the following information:
please_help_LL, please, let us continue in your other thread…
Aaron Glass and Andreas Stürmer, the availability of the firmware update depends on your firmware variant. The firmware variant is identified through your Product Code. With a Lumia 950 series phone, the Product Code is written underneath the battery cover (Code 59…). Microsoft Mobile wants you to wait until your phone notifies you about an update. This happens automatically. If you post your Product Code, the community is able to double-check your situation.
Noemata, please, create a new thread with your FLAC music codec issue. Here in this thread, it might get drown. If possible provide an example file, which works in Windows 10 for computers, but does not work in Windows 10 Mobile.
Kon-Aitor and Jim McIntosh, Microsoft Mobile does not communicate estimated arrival times of firmware updates—at least, I never saw this happen. AT&T USA ordered a complete unique Model Type (RM-1105). Therefore, you cannot re-use firmware files from the ‘normal’ Lumia 950 (RM-1104). Therefore, you are limited to those firmware updates authorized by AT&T, even when using another network. Microsoft Mobile wants you to wait until your phone notifies you about an update. This happens automatically.
Andy Share, you did not receive the firmware update 00038 mentioned in this thread, yet. Therefore, you face an issue unrelated to the firmware 00038. Therefore, please, create a new thread with that particular issue, so the community is able to look at your particular issue. In that thread, please, mention your Wi-Fi (brand, model, and if possible the firmware version). Even if unrelated on the first glance, this might help others to reproduce your issue.
