Hey all,

we have started rolling out a new firmware update for Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL: 01078.00038.16025.390xx. Key improvements in this release include:

  • Stability fixes.
  • Improvements for GPS reliability.
  • Improvements for call audio quality.

The availability of this update may depend on your phone model, region or network service provider. At the time of writing this post, the update is available mainly for selected open market variants, but the rollouts should continue gradually during the coming days and weeks.

Windows 10 is updating continuously, so make sure you follow all the update notifications that appear on your phone. To check for updates, you can also tap Settings > Update & security > Phone update > Check for updates. For detailed update instructions, see.

If you are a Windows Insider user, see. Note: this does not affect general firmware availability.

I have a new 950 and updated windows yesterday. Turned my phone off today and now it won't restart.

Any suggestions? (Apart from a reset)

Had the phone a week and it's been a very frustrating experience so far. :(

Andreas, Microsoft Mobile does not communicate estimated arrival times of firmware updates—at least, I never saw this happen. If you do not go for Windows Insider but stay in the Production Mode, your phone is going to notify about the firmware update automatically.

Janet, those are the latest version for a RM-1105 right now. You have not missed anything, yet. Now, your phone should notify about the update automatically – when it comes. Anyway, when the firmware or OS updates are released for AT&T USA, I am sure somebody is going to update this thread.

I have a lumia 950 purchased from AT&T. The RM is 1105, product  code 059X4D9.  Carrier is AT&T and my ISP is Time-Warner Cable.

I am currently on software update .29 which as I stated previously I was only able to receive when I took the phone to the Microsoft Store and they installed it for me. Firmware is the original 01078.00017.15454.29031.

    No updates, any suggestions?

I do not have an AT&T phone. The model I'm seeing is [RM-]1116.

I am sorry, then I got you wrong. For your case, please, see my revised answer below:

If MS tied the unlocked, not carrier phone, to AT&T, it may be time to look elsewhere.

In the past, there were a lot of rumors, whether a ‘country variant’ (CV) or even ‘regional variants’ (in your case Product Code 059X5B5 or 059X505 = North America; NAM) must be approved by all mobile operators in that country/region or just by (normal) independent testing. Or stated differently: I do not know for sure, whether AT&T US has to authorize your variant as well. Anyway, with a Lumia 950 XL like yours, if you go for Product Code 059X5P5 (Mexico, MX), you get 00038 today.

    059X4W7 RM-1118

That is a Lumia 950 Dual SIM and the firmware variant for several European countries, like Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, Poland and many more. 00038 has not been released for that variant, yet. The ‘nearest’ Product Code for you would be 059X4X8 (Germany, Italy, …). That received 00038 already.
