Hey all,

we have started rolling out a new firmware update for Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL: 01078.00038.16025.390xx. Key improvements in this release include:

  • Stability fixes.
  • Improvements for GPS reliability.
  • Improvements for call audio quality.

The availability of this update may depend on your phone model, region or network service provider. At the time of writing this post, the update is available mainly for selected open market variants, but the rollouts should continue gradually during the coming days and weeks.

Windows 10 is updating continuously, so make sure you follow all the update notifications that appear on your phone. To check for updates, you can also tap Settings > Update & security > Phone update > Check for updates. For detailed update instructions, see.

If you are a Windows Insider user, see. Note: this does not affect general firmware availability.

To read more about the new features included in Windows 10 Mobile, see What's New in Windows 10 Mobile.

My Lumia 950XL Dual SIM Code = 059X4S4) is not usable in my car with Bluetooth as it keeps disconnecting randomly, and people around don't understand i have such issues with the latest Microsoft flagship device !

My 950XL DS could be my last Windows Phone or Windows 10 Mobile phone. I have been a long time Nokia->Microsoft user. I was super proud of WP8.1 fluidity and stability but W10M is a major let down. I know it's a new built from ground OS but the time taken for MS to address bugs for basic day to day usability took months. I have the phone for about 3 months now and until today I am not sure when it will reboot randomly. Hard reset a couple of times throughout this period. I have so many random reboots up to a point that I have to remove my SIM PIN just to make sure that others can contact me. And talking about phone freezing in a middle of a call and bluetooth disconnecting, it's like paying for a flagship with my hard-earned money and getting an unusable phone. And with MS moving away from hardware with amazing PureView imaging in the future, i see no point hanging around now that other hardware+OS is getting better and better with imaging. So, 950XL will be my last... and seeing MS offering goodies apps to Android and IOS (i do use these other devices) that works even better than in W10M...

Well anyhow, this is just my rant. A rant from a single user that MS will just ignore. Sad.

Sharing the same opinion as MichaelPipkins, I made at least 10 people in my office, all my family change their phones to Lumias, but i'm getting tired of defending a lost cause.

M$ft needs to wake up urgently, customers need quick a reliable updates and improvements, or it will continue to loss more and more market share then disappear...

02/24/16 - Hey Microsoft, thanks for the update ... I always enjoy watching my phone turn into a BRICK!

After update on my 950, no Microsoft apps work .. including Calendars, Outlook, Text Messaging, the PHONE !!!!, People, Pictures, Maps, SETTINGS !!!!!, you get the picture yet!!

Yet strangely, third party apps seem to be working... I just can't use the phone for anything important.

Now I need to figure out how to undo what you just installed... and do it without access to the settings menu.

(Yes, for all those reading I am just a bit angry. Over and over I defend Microsoft and promote this phone. Why? I'm getting nothing out of it. In fact, we loyal Windows Phone users get the shaft over and over with no Apps. And I'm really getting sick of defending my choice for Windows phone and having to deal with this kind of garbage. For 25 years I've been defending Microsoft and I have had just about as much as I can take.)

Advice to Everyone Else ... Don't let the phone update!!!

I see no other option to go back to the iPhone, working phone is necessary to my work -one update for all at one time, fast bugs correction.

I'm afraid you're correct in you analysis.  If Microsoft doesn't start taking care of customers who purchase flagship devices rather than leaving them stranded with no support or information, I too, will return to the iPhone.  I'm not giving up on my 950 XL just yet, but it's getting harder and harder to stick with this platform.
