New firmware update for Lumia 950/950 XL: 01078.00038.16025.390xx

Hey all,

we have started rolling out a new firmware update for Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL: 01078.00038.16025.390xx. Key improvements in this release include:

  • Stability fixes.
  • Improvements for GPS reliability.
  • Improvements for call audio quality.

The availability of this update may depend on your phone model, region or network service provider. At the time of writing this post, the update is available mainly for selected open market variants, but the rollouts should continue gradually during the coming days and weeks.  

Windows 10 is updating continuously, so make sure you follow all the update notifications that appear on your phone. To check for updates, you can also tap Settings > Update & security > Phone update > Check for updates. For detailed update instructions, see.

    I should have expected that buying an unbranded/unlocked device from Microsoft was pointless.  Here we are in the US, NOT getting the firmware update because AT&T hasn't approved it yet.  Maybe Microsoft doesn't understand the entire point of why customers buy unbranded devices in the first place?  

    PITIFUL, just like the support we are receiving on the 950 XL.  .

    Yep that's where I was waiting, for the Firmware update....  Went from Production to Fast to get .107, then am now back on Production waiting for that Firmware on my 950 XL. 

    I haven't noticed that anybody in the US has got it, nor have I seen any comments from MS other than the original comment by Jason that the Firmware update was rolling...

    you don't need to go back to get the firmware update (when it's available). Windows Insider users can use this trick: http://aka.ms/insiderfirmware

    And Now there's  a New Fast Ring Release 10586.107.  Wonder if I should go back to Fast Ring to get it, then come back to Production to wait on the February Firmware update?
