Top Request: Navigate music collections by folder in the Groove app

Week after week we hear the request to add the ability to navigate music collections by folder in the Groove app. We're thinking about how to build it the right way and would love more detailed feedback.

How do you organize your collection by folder? A folder per album? A folder per artist? A folder by season?

Once we expose your folder structure in Groove, how do you expect to interact with them? Play buttons on each folder? Should your folders be included in the "Add to" menus?

    For me the same. In addition, I sometimes do not buy whole albums. Then my path looks like the following:

    Music > Single Titles > Year >

    The other path would be:

    Music > Artists > Artist Name > Album

    My folder structure is

    Music > Artist > Album > Disc # (only for multi disc)

    Music > Compilations > Album > Disc # (only for multi disc)

    Music > Soundtracks > TV/MOVIE/GAME > Album > Disc # (only for multi Disc)

    Great! I do not use the groove-app on my Windwows Phone because i missed this feature.

    On my SD-Card in my phone, i have some folders with artist/album/tracks - but the "play-folder" ist mixed with tracks and (!) folders, so i ned to navigate in the folder-tree and play a complette folder or want to open it and play different tracks.

    Thank´s for creating this feature and sorry for the bad english.

    Absolutely. This is the best way. Makes sense so when you are looking for a file.

    <HDD>:\ Music \ Artist \ Album

    It would be great to navigate to "Musik" and have a "Play / Add" Button right besides the Artist there, so that all subfolders (Album) will be played. If you navigate into the"Artist" you should get a "Play / Add" button next to the "Album".
