Top Request: Navigate music collections by folder in the Groove app

Week after week we hear the request to add the ability to navigate music collections by folder in the Groove app. We're thinking about how to build it the right way and would love more detailed feedback.

How do you organize your collection by folder? A folder per album? A folder per artist? A folder by season?

Once we expose your folder structure in Groove, how do you expect to interact with them? Play buttons on each folder? Should your folders be included in the "Add to" menus?

    Sorry to be that guy, but I don't want this, I'd much prefer a flawless tag/album art recognition with editing possibilities. Thank you!

    I agree. Adding this feature seems like a 2006 idea with devices that don't properly read or navigate tags. I'm going to go more extreme and say any time spent on this is time wasted.

    How about a Family Plan for Groove Music instead? Seems easier and more value added.

    I appreciate that you are listening, but folders are an archaic way to build your music navigation. That's what tags are for. Let the tags drive the way the music is presented, sorted and filtered. You should put more effort into utilizing tags more effectively.

    I have all my music organized nicely into folders Artist/Album/Songs, but it shouldn't even matter. All the tag data is embedded in each file. 

    I'd rather you put your efforts into establishing a family plan for Groove. Seriously, do you think folders are keeping people from using Groove? I doubt it.

    <HDD>:\ Music \ Artist \ Album

    It would be great to navigate to "Musik" and have a "Play / Add" Button right besides the Artist there, so that all subfolders (Album) will be played. If you navigate into the"Artist" you should get a "Play / Add" button next to the "Album".

    Absolutely. This is the best way. Makes sense so when you are looking for a file.

    Great! I do not use the groove-app on my Windwows Phone because i missed this feature.

    On my SD-Card in my phone, i have some folders with artist/album/tracks - but the "play-folder" ist mixed with tracks and (!) folders, so i ned to navigate in the folder-tree and play a complette folder or want to open it and play different tracks.

    Thank´s for creating this feature and sorry for the bad english.
