Here is how I made the AR3012 working again on Windows 10 20H1.

  1. remove AR3012 & its drivers completely from 20H1, later let 20H1 detect it as Generic Bluetooth Radio.
  2. download Qualcomm driver v10.0.1.15 from Microsoft Catalog website, install this driver via driver upgrade.
  3. after v10.0.1.15 being installed, you might see additional device named in "Bluetooth LE" as the one in the Kirill's figure.
  4. try to connect any BT device you couldn't connect after upgrading to 20H1, make sure the AR3012 really WORKS.
  5. then download any Qualcomm driver v10.0.3.x (as Kirill mentioned, the newest one is v10.0.3.22, or let Windows Update do it later), upgrade  the driver of AR3012 again with this one.

Notice: NEVER uninstall the v10.0.1.15 while/after upgrading to v10.0.3.x, or the AR3012 will fail again after reboot.

Microsoft Generic Bluetooth Driver -> Qualcomm BT driver v10.0.1.15 -> Qualcomm BT driver v10.0.3.x,

if you did followed the steps, your AR3012 should be working as usual, even after reboot.

Qualcomm Atheros Communications - Bluetooth - 10.0.1.15 (x64)

Qualcomm Atheros Communications - Bluetooth - 10.0.3.22 (x64)

I guess the "Bluetooth LE" is the critical point of this issue.

(I DID hate the crappy W10...... what's M$ doing now? let users recall how windows unstable in 1990s? )

NOTE by MELERIX: by the way, as it is an older driver, it does not support the new Windows 10 shutdown mode called fast startup*, so every time you shut down Windows and then restart it, the device appears with an error, so you have to* disable the fast startup of Windows 10*, in the power options of the control panel.*

it will only works if you have a AR3012.

As you can see there is already ar3012 driver. That's why I have commented here.

    Hi ArabindaPal,

According to your pic, I think your BT should be installed correctly for working,

the MS BT LE Enumerator has been online.

I also see the additional BT devices, "Level U" & "Level U Avrcp Transport".

Did you ever try to disable them, then match BT devices?

Sorry I don't have them on my notebook,

so I can't verify whether them cause other compatible issue.

Or please try to match more different BT devices,

or keep your BT devices in the shortest range of your VAIO.

I ever suffered some BT devices only work within 10~20 cm.

I don't know how to deal with that :(

AR3012 is very old, hardly expect any new driver being released......

Screenshot has been taken when bluetooth was working correctly. My problem is If I don't turn off the bluetooth from action centre or settings before shutdown. Then only, after next boot, bluetooth will not work and respond. Also, troubleshooter will keep telling resolving problems for hours and say that "turning on bluetooth". And, when bluetooth works correctly then, always troubleshooter shows that "Check Bluetooth Radio Status - fixed".

I have other 2 new laptops from hp and I have never had such problems and always do windows update time to time.

If old computers or laptops not compatible with windows 10, then why Microsoft is forcing us to upgrade to windows 10, my full 5 gb has been wasted in this os.

    Details:

OS Version : Windows 10 Home

Bluetooth Driver : Qualcomm Atheros AR3012 Bluetooth 4.0

I have been having problems connecting Bluetooth devices to my laptop presumably after Windows 10 upgrade. I didn't use Bluetooth in ages after upgrade and only saw this problem when I tried to connect a device a few days ago. I have performed all the steps i.e. uninstalling/reinstalling drivers, system restarts, updating the drivers but nothing seems to have worked so far.

I then tried troubleshooting Bluetooth and troubleshooter shows the following (attached is the image for it):

"Check Bluetooth radio status" : "Not fixed" <error_icon>

I then opened "services.msc" and saw 3 bluetooth services:

    1. Bluetooth Audio Gateway Service
    2. Bluetooth Support Service
    3. Bluetooth User Support Service_5679c

I tried restarting these services and setting startup type to automatic. While it worked for 1 and 2, for 3, I got an error saying parameter not supported. Also, when I tried restarting "Bluetooth User Support Service_5679c", it stopped automatically after a few seconds so it looks like it's failing to start.

To summarise, there are a couple of problems:

    1. Bluetooth service is not able to start up
    2. Troubleshooter is not able to access Bluetooth radio service

Has anyone seen these problems before? Could anyone please advice what to do in this case?
