Here is how I made the AR3012 working again on Windows 10 20H1.

  1. remove AR3012 & its drivers completely from 20H1, later let 20H1 detect it as Generic Bluetooth Radio.
  2. download Qualcomm driver v10.0.1.15 from Microsoft Catalog website, install this driver via driver upgrade.
  3. after v10.0.1.15 being installed, you might see additional device named in "Bluetooth LE" as the one in the Kirill's figure.
  4. try to connect any BT device you couldn't connect after upgrading to 20H1, make sure the AR3012 really WORKS.
  5. then download any Qualcomm driver v10.0.3.x (as Kirill mentioned, the newest one is v10.0.3.22, or let Windows Update do it later), upgrade  the driver of AR3012 again with this one.

Notice: NEVER uninstall the v10.0.1.15 while/after upgrading to v10.0.3.x, or the AR3012 will fail again after reboot.

Microsoft Generic Bluetooth Driver -> Qualcomm BT driver v10.0.1.15 -> Qualcomm BT driver v10.0.3.x,

if you did followed the steps, your AR3012 should be working as usual, even after reboot.

I guess the "Bluetooth LE" is the critical point of this issue.

(I DID hate the crappy W10...... what's M$ doing now? let users recall how windows unstable in 1990s? )

NOTE by MELERIX: by the way, as it is an older driver, it does not support the new Windows 10 shutdown mode called fast startup*, so every time you shut down Windows and then restart it, the device appears with an error, so you have to* disable the fast startup of Windows 10*, in the power options of the control panel.*

    Hi WayneSmith_271,

    My name is Lee an Independent Advisor.

    Please try this:

    • Go to device manager > Uninstall Bluetooth driver & restart the computer
    • To re-install the Bluetooth driver, go back to device manager and click the Action Menu > Scan for hardware change
    • If the Bluetooth driver did not come back, you may also go to Settings > Update & Security and check for updates to re-install the Bluetooth driver
    • After the BT driver is back, kindly go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other device and turn on Bluetooth
    • Before adding the headset, make sure you make you PC can be discovered by other devices, to do that look at the right side in the same option and lick on "More Bluetooth option" > under discovery check "Allow Bluetooth devices to find this PC" > OK
    • Now Add the Bluetooth device and test if this step resolve the problem

    Thankyou Lee.

    I have followed your instructions, but it has not worked. When I select 'Add a device', with my wireless

    speaker standing next to the computer and trying to connect, it just searches and searches but nothing

    comes up.

    If I choose the third option down, 'Everything Else (Xbox controllers with wireless adapter, DLNA and more',

    then it detects two objects - our TV and a fire stick. But with the top option, 'Bluetooth devices', nothing

    at all I'm afraid.

    Is there anything else I could try?

    Thanks for trying. I have a couple of questions below:

    1. What is the model of your speaker?
    2. Does your speaker work on other device like phone?
    3. Is your speaker currently paired to another device like phone? If so, could you please turn off the Bluetooth of your phone in the mean time?
    4. Lastly, most BT speaker / headphone needs to become ready to be discovered before you can pair them. It is usually done by holding the power button longer until a notification sound is heard. Could you please try that as well?

    1. The speaker is a Sony SRS-X55, and I also have Skullcandy Hesh 3 headphones which fail to connect too.
    2. Yes, both these devices work on my iPhones and iPod.
    3. Bluetooth is turned off on my phones and iPod when I try to connect.
    4. I have tried 'discovery' mode on headphones and speaker, but it still fails to locate them.

    I don't know if this will help, but when I open the 'events' tab on my Bluetooth driver, I get the following info:
