Lumia 650 loses Wi-Fi connectivity until reboot

Last couple of days I did some tests:

1 - connected some old TP-LINK WLAN router (802.11b/g only, locked channel) to my home router, so Lumia 650 was only WiFi device connecting to it - so far no problems

2 - I changed some WiFi settings on my MT router (locked 6th channel on 802.11g in b/g/n mixed mode) - so far no problems

Note: new WiFi devices have an option of changing frequency dynamically depending on some factors (noise/channel usage/etc), maybe WiFi hardware from Lumia 650 doesn't cope up so good with that? (therefore I "lock" channel so it won't change frequency)

Btw anyone knows will Windows Mobile 10 OS be affected with big update from Microsoft coming on 2nd August?

Well I have a Lumia 650 that I bought in March 2016 and this did have the problem that it would sometimes not connect to my local WiFi and needed to be switched off and on again to make it connect again.

However I have not had the problem for a few weeks now despite regularly switching on and of the WiFi and changed to the Bluetooth connection when I am travelling in my car. I have not changed the WiFi or Bluetooth settings.

Perhaps Microsoft have fixed this in one of the OS updates they have installed recently or perhaps they have upgraded the firmware. 

I would be interested in a comment from Microsoft but in my case it now seems to be fixed.

Today the same issue happened while connecting to open Hotspot network (no encryption), so it might not be related to WPA2/WEP as I originally thought.

Otherwise I find the phone great, it's a shame that this is happening.

After last weeks update from 10586.420 to 10586.494 the situation has improved. The 650 stayed connected for a few days as long as it was in reach of the same access point. Although a short period out of reach and no reconnect in any way other than reboot. Also after a move to the neighbours the 650 refuses to connect to their (known) network. BTW, all are 2.4 Ghz.

Today I joined the Windows Insider fast ring and upgraded to the 14390.0 build. Time is too short to believe that the issue is really gone now. But the move from our own to our neighbours network was no issue this time as the 650 reconnected as it should without any intervention.

For me it's hard to understand that an OS update can have this effect on such low level things as wifi connectivity. Probably a firmware update is still needed to make things work in all OS versions.

I'm not sure if FW update is available as standalone update or as a part of OS update?

I hope they'll release it for 650 as well. So far as I understood even participating in Insider Program wouldn't bring much as FW updates are not included there.
