Lumia 650 loses Wi-Fi connectivity until reboot

With my new Lumia 650 running Windows 10, I have a serious problem with Wi-Fi, occurring daily.

At some point the device becomes unable to connect to any Wi-Fi access point, whether previously known or discovered with Wi-Fi Sense. I have observed this both with WPA access points at home and at work, and also with unencrypted public hotspots in the city.

In the Wi-Fi settings screen, I can see it repeatedly attempts to connect to one of the access points available for automatic connection, but then reverts to disconnected state.

Turning Wi-Fi off and on again does not solve the problem. Only after turning the device off and on again it becomes able to connect.

Did anyone else encounter this problem?

It is frustrating to say the least. Especially as there is no acknowledgement from Microsoft. Very poor customer support, which surprises me. They are lucky that customers seem to stick by them. I really hope we hear something soon, don't want to give up on Microsoft phone but its been months of issues.

Have same issue unable to reconnect to Wi-Fi unless I switch phone off and then back on, glad it not just me so at least I know it's the phone. I like the phone shame it's buggy, this is my second issue also had issue with some brands of headphones not working thought the headphone jack I like to use the phone as an MP3 player :( I have little faith in Microsoft sorting this quickly but maybe I'll be surprised

Another option is switching the LOCATION to off. Seems to work better now, but it's only a painful workaround. I need location services to be working - especially for voice navigation apps and weather.

Microsoft - wake up! My friend with 550 is thinking about the change to another system. I am also disappointed like the others in this thread. Do you really want to lose your customers?

Exactly the same issue here. Bought two new 650s two days ago. Latest firmware and official update installed (not insider), and WiFi constantly disconnects. The phones need to be soft reset to solve the issue. I've tried all the suggestions, factory reset, device recovery, wifi sense and hotspots off, Bluetooth off. Such a shame. I got these to replace our problematic 735s after Windows 10 upgrade. Really want to stick with windows, so hope it can be fixed.

    Hey,

This seems to be the best option so far. My 650 is much more stable with wifi now. Even when wifi connection is lost occasionally, switching it off/on works - no need to reboot the phone!

    Good one, thanks!
