Zune Marketplace disappeared today

I haven't checked the reg settings but it still shows Marketplace/Picks etc. and shows the download buttons so I'm assuming the reg settings are still intact. I'll try re-editing it and see if that makes any difference.

I'm definitely going to rollback the update as it's messed up a few other things. I thought I had turned off auto updates but I guess I overlooked it.

This was an ominous email that registered Zune users received yesterday under the subject line "Important! Zune licensing for protected purchases ends soon."

Important changes to your Zune® music purchases

As an original Zune customer, we appreciate you being a part of our music community from the start. As you know, we’ve continuously worked to evolve our music app and service, and with that evolution, some of our original licensing arrangements are expiring.

Our records show that you purchased music on Zune prior to 2012, so we’re writing to let you know thatas of March 12, 2017, we will no longer be issuing licenses to WMA-protected (DRM) tracks purchased prior to 2012. If you have not already obtained licenses for outstanding purchased DRM tracks, you will be unable to play WMA DRM files locally after March 11, 2017.

We want to make it as easy as possible to access the music you bought before our March transition, so at no additional charge, we’re allowing you to download MP3 versions of your purchased songs – either within the Windows 10 Groove Music app, or at music.microsoft.com.We strongly recommend that you convert any DRM music you’ve purchased from Zune into MP3 format so that you may continue to play it wherever you like. At first I thought it was the beginning of the end, but reading it over it still seems like the system will be available for subscription tracks, or at least is not addressed by this change of service. I have purchased  and downloaded some WMA tracks, but when I try the steps in the support document, linked below, it says the licenses are no longer available. Some or all of these tracks (Miles Davis On The Corner, Sly and the Family Stone Live at Woodstock are two of the albums) can not be burned to CD either. Has anyone else purchased or downloaded WMA tracks as part of their 10 tracks/month subscription? Can you download replacement MP3 tracks as suggested?

Chances are you're trying to burn the .wma's to CD which won't work, I have a hunch if you followed the directions on the site that you might have both .wma & .mp3 versions of the songs on your computer.

Well the replacement of WMAs with MP3s is working, at least in some cases. I use the Groove app in Windows 10 (pre-Anniversary release, I believe). I'm looking through my purchased music folders one at a time (in my Zune folder structure, purchased music is in folders by artists\albums directly under the Zune folder). When I see WMA files, I right click on the album in Groove and click download; sometimes it starts downloading the track(s), sometimes it gives me an error saying that the album is no longer available. The tracks start getting download in Zune\Music Cache, then get transferred to \Zune\Purchased. I'm moving the MP3 files into my regular folder structure mentioned above.

So far it's worked with two Miles Davis albums with very long tracks.

It doesn't work for the Sly & The Family Stone at Woodstock release. When I purchased this, I was trying to use my 10 tracks per month credits, but it instead purchased the whole album, a combination of the Woodstock tracks and the album Stand! I had to pay extra for that, and now I can't convert my WMA tracks to MP3s because that configuration of the album no longer exists in the Marketplace. I'll have to write customer support to try to recover them. I'm afraid the WMAs won't be playable after this change.

Actually the error I'm getting now is Sign-Up Error: C00D11CD (80048A87).

UPDATE: I'm able to log into Zune software on another Windows 10 PC so it must be an install/corruption/update problem. More at the above thread (link).
