Zune Marketplace disappeared today

So until yesterday, I was still using the Zune desktop software to manage my subscription music.  Search results would show me what's in my collection and also give me the option to download from the store with my 9.99 monthly subscription.  As of today, search results only show me what's in my collection already, so apparently downloading is not longer an option.

Apparently I was the last human to switch to Groove.  The problem is I can't figure how to download music via Groove.  The app store says "instantly stream and download more music than you can imagine..." and "you have a Groove Music Pass".  The only options I see on Groove are to stream or pay $ to download.  If the 9.99 pass only allows streaming, I need to figure out how to cancel my subscription.

    Good for you!

I just wish that they would've used WMP instead of re-inventing the wheel with the Zune.  I still can't transfer video to my Zune HD 32 anymore though.  Anyone have any tips?  I'll try a nuclear option at this point! :)

Well the service seems to be up and working again, just in the nick of time. February 4, my Zune Pass was due to renew at around $100 annual subscription. I'll keep hoping it last another year. I can download tracks and sync them with my various Zunes.

I think it's the end of the Marketplace for me. I've installed Zune software on a different Windows 7 PC. I found I can log in to my user account (before applying the FeaturesOverride hack that restores the Marketplace, see above). After I apply the hack, I can no longer log in, although the Marketplace tab appears and can be searched.

Then going back to the original PC, I temporarily changed the Marketplace DWord in the FeaturesOverride registry hack to 0 rather than 1, and now I can log into my user account, but the downloaded DRM music no longer shows any license information and of course the Marketplace is not accessible. With the Marketplace DWord setting of 1 restored, I can check the tracks' license rights and expiration dates, although I can't log in or download tracks. The expiration date, by the way, is Feb. 26, 2017 about a month from the last time I logged in. I see that there's a patch that Microsoft references at the following link that falls on Jan. 26, about the time my problems began:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4000825/windows-10-and-windows-server-2016-update-history

My next step is to try to apply updates, I guess, but I've been purposely withholding them, as I understand the Anniversary Update will break Zune software as well. Seems that I'm being forced to update.

Is there anyone downloading music through Zune software anymore? I did up until a week ago, and have a Music Pass until Feb. 4. My Groove app has been hit-and-miss downloading tracks lately, too.

For at least two days, I've been unable to log into Zune software, with error "Can't sign in due to a temporary service error. Please try again later."

I'm stuck in the Sign In stay, which is usually automatic. I can sync purchased MP3s, but I can no longer move DRM files over to my Zune player.

It's possible it's just a repeat of the same problem described in my last post, now come to my new computer. It doesn't show any updates applied, however.

Or maybe it's more of this issue, reported further above by me:

As an original Zune customer, we appreciate you being a part of our music community from the start. As you know, we’ve continuously worked to evolve our music app and service, and with that evolution, some of our original licensing arrangements are expiring.

Our records show that you purchased music on Zune prior to 2012, so we’re writing to let you know thatas of March 12, 2017, we will no longer be issuing licenses to WMA-protected (DRM) tracks purchased prior to 2012. If you have not already obtained licenses for outstanding purchased DRM tracks, you will be unable to play WMA DRM files locally after March 11, 2017.

HELP! My annual subscription is about the renew for $99.90 and I don't want to be stuck without my Zune players. I'm going to move my PC to another network to make sure it's not related to my Internet connection. Groove just doesn't cut it.

I've been unable to log into Zune software for almost a week now. It may be the end. Here's where I've posted about it and I may copy more details here eventually. Until then, visit this link:

Zune Software Sign-In Error Code C00D11B2 (800C2EE2) (Microsoft Community Forum thread)

Actually the error I'm getting now is Sign-Up Error: C00D11CD (80048A87).

UPDATE: I'm able to log into Zune software on another Windows 10 PC so it must be an install/corruption/update problem. More at the above thread (link).
