Zune Marketplace disappeared today

So until yesterday, I was still using the Zune desktop software to manage my subscription music.  Search results would show me what's in my collection and also give me the option to download from the store with my 9.99 monthly subscription.  As of today, search results only show me what's in my collection already, so apparently downloading is not longer an option.

Apparently I was the last human to switch to Groove.  The problem is I can't figure how to download music via Groove.  The app store says "instantly stream and download more music than you can imagine..." and "you have a Groove Music Pass".  The only options I see on Groove are to stream or pay $ to download.  If the 9.99 pass only allows streaming, I need to figure out how to cancel my subscription.

    I just tried it on my Win10 laptop with the same version of Zune and it doesn't work either. I was so excited to see this post since I thought the Zune player and services were top notch. Groove's okay I guess, I suppose I'll just have to jump ship some day since I still have a music pass.

    One thing that I don't like about Groove is the 1000 song limitation of playlists. I've been making playlists with 5000+ songs for years now on Zune with a mix of my own personal songs and Microsoft's catalog, and won't be able to do that anymore unless they lift the restriction. Plus no last.fm scrobbling support, or ID tag editing sucks.

    I followed the directions Marchingknight posted for a permanent fix on page 2, and only used the Marketplace DWORD

    It's still working for me on my Windows 10 setup.

    Please confirm:

    • your OS?
    • your version of Zune software?
    • what steps you have taken; that is, what mods have you made to the registry?

    On my setup, I can download tracks, but I can't preview them. Otherwise, all of the Marketplace catalog/functions are there. I use Groove if I want to preview tracks, since the catalogs are the same, as far as I can tell. I have noticed it works better with one Internet service I have vs. the other (DSL). And sometimes the Marketplace seems to be down or not as available.

    Marchingknight, have you tried this and can confirm it permanently fixed a problem

    UPDATE: Yeah, that definitely works for me, giving me back the Marketplace and allowing me to download subscription tracks. 

    Doesn't work for me. It adds the word Marketplace but does nothing when I click it. And when I search anything there are no results for the Marketplace (just loads forever and never shows any results). This hack must have only worked for a while.

    Well at least they didn't kill off the Zune software itself.  I'll never for the life of me figure out why they didn't just make the Zune compatible with Windows Media Player..

    Also, when I playback songs in the Zune player, I no longer get photos of the artists on my computer.  They work on the Zune but not the computer.  Bad show Microsoft... :(
