Well, it is now October and I still do not have the latest firmware or the Anniversary update for my Lumia 950 Dual SIM. My phone info:
Model: Microsoft Lumia 950 Dual SIM
Carrier: NAM CV
Software: Windows 10 Mobile
Installed RAM: 3 GB
Version: 1511
OS build:
10.0.10586.218
Firmware revision number:
01078.00038.16025.39004
Hardware revision number: 2.1.6.2
Radio software version: B025c43.00009.0001
Chip SOC version: 8992
If I understand things correctly, these are the issues for the firmware update:
- I bought the unlocked phone at the Microsoft store.
- The Microsoft Store rep said my six-month old phone will never get the firmware update or Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update.
- I am using it on T-Mobile.
- Although AT&T will push it over the air (OTA), T-Mobile will never push it OTA. There is no way to ever get it OTA.
- The http://www.lumiafirmware.com site has a ROM that is newer:
Last Firmware: 01078.00053.16236.35005.
- I should be able to use Windows Device Recovery Tool software to update my phone with the ROM from www.lumiafirmware.com.
An assumption: I can not get the Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update until I get the updated firmware.
I plan to work on the firmware this week. Wish me luck and tell me if anything I wrote is wrong. Thanks.
