New firmware update for Lumia 950/950 XL: 01078.00053.16236.35xxx

Hey folks,

We are starting to rollout a new firmware update today for Lumia 950/950 XL: 01078.00053.16236.35xxx. Key improvements in this release include:

  • Wi-Fi connectivity improvements, including fixes for Wi-Fi connection dropping randomly and Wi-Fi scan occasionally not returning any results.
  • Support for double tap to wake enabled.
  • Bluetooth connectivity improvements.
  • Stability and reliability improvements.
  • Camera improvements, including improved image and video quality, improved Auto-focus and fix for a problem that was causing slow motion capture to skip frames for some users.
  • Cellular connectivity improvements, including fix for a problem that caused occasional network loss for some users.
  • Audio quality improvements, including fix for a problem that caused voice call audio to get scrambled for some users.

The availability of the update may depend on your phone model, region or network service provider. Starting today, the update should become available for the first batch of phones and the remaining ones are expected to receive the update gradually.

Windows 10 is updating continuously, so make sure you follow all the update notifications that appear on your phone. To check for updates, you can also tap Settings > Update & security > Phone update > Check for updates. For more detailed update instructions and troubleshooting, see.

    Same here sim free unlocked 950 also on EE UK. No update yet,getting impatient now. Moved from Android as the updates were mega slow to rollout, looks like I made a mistake going to the Windows platform.😠 .

    I am yet to get the update ( I checked in the phone update and WDRT) I bought L950 in USA unlocked from microsoft store in Houston Nov 2015.

    Well your theory doesn't work and I doubt you have the same phone as me Windows recovery device tool only has the firmware vers- 01078.00038.16025.39004 on their severs

    Nice try buddy for getting people to flash there phones for no reason

    As you see I just flashed it with RM-1116_15169 instead of mine look at the Mobile Operator 000-88 I bought that from Microsoft Store, the firmware that I flashed on mine was originally for these Operators:

    OperatorName: 000-AL, 000-BA, 000-BG, 000-HR, 000-CY, 000-CZ, 000-EE, 000-GR, 000-HU, 000-LV, 000-LT, 000-MK, 000-MD, 000-ME, 000-PL, 000-RO, 000-RS, 000-SK, 000-SI,

    I haven't just flashed my Mobile with recovery tool normally, you have to first download the needed Firmware from the given site then flash it as in the tutorial just follow it step by step thanks

    the only firmware vers is on the server right now at 7:47 pm eastern time is the 01078.00038.16082.36004 unfortunately it is not the one we want grrr
