New firmware update for Lumia 950/950 XL: 01078.00053.16236.35xxx
Hey folks,
We are starting to rollout a new firmware update today for Lumia 950/950 XL: 01078.00053.16236.35xxx. Key improvements in this release include:
- Wi-Fi connectivity improvements, including fixes for Wi-Fi connection dropping randomly and Wi-Fi scan occasionally not returning any results.
- Support for double tap to wake enabled.
- Bluetooth connectivity improvements.
- Stability and reliability improvements.
- Camera improvements, including improved image and video quality, improved Auto-focus and fix for a problem that was causing slow motion capture to skip frames for some users.
- Cellular connectivity improvements, including fix for a problem that caused occasional network loss for some users.
- Audio quality improvements, including fix for a problem that caused voice call audio to get scrambled for some users.
The availability of the update may depend on your phone model, region or network service provider. Starting today, the update should become available for the first batch of phones and the remaining ones are expected to receive the update gradually.
Windows 10 is updating continuously, so make sure you follow all the update notifications that appear on your phone. To check for updates, you can also tap Settings > Update & security > Phone update > Check for updates. For more detailed update instructions and troubleshooting, see.

2016-09-02T07:46:59+00:00 You are one of many now that is willing to blame Microsoft for the fault of your Carrier. MS released firmware a while ago but the carrier just now pushed it out. OTA is mostly delayed by your carrier Not MS.
What a lot of BS. In the UK we're not held hostage by carriers like those in the US, particularly not those of us with unlocked phones bought directly from Microsoft. Get your facts straight; this is firmly and squarely Microsoft's fault.

2016-09-01T22:27:48+00:00 Happy for the folks in the UK (and hopefully France!) the update is finally available. Unbelievable and mind blowing it takes so long to roll out something this monumental to unlocked devices. :/ Hopefully Microsoft is reading the thread and collecting "lessons learned" (process refinement after all!) to improve transparency/communication AND properly set expectations going forward.
That being said, I'm dedicated to the platform and not leaving. However, things need to change given the current state. And yes, I will always continue to frown at the carriers/employees who actively discriminate against the platform.
Mad cabbies should be happy now. :P

2016-09-01T22:12:19+00:00 FINALLY!!!
I have just updated via OTA.
In the UK using Three on an unlocked Lumia 950 XL purchased direct from Microsoft Store UK.
I only had to wait a week short of two months for MS to finally offer this important update OTA. Not exactly great, eh Microsoft? Need to do much much much better if you still have any aspiration to have a mobile phone in the future.

OTA update just finished. Oh and SansVarnic, in case youve mssed the note most of the phones that didnt recieved the firmware up to this point are carrier indipendent and unlocked phones. So stfu, i love MS but in this case the blame is entierly in their ballpark.
