New firmware update for Lumia 950/950 XL: 01078.00053.16236.35xxx

Hey folks,

We are starting to rollout a new firmware update today for Lumia 950/950 XL: 01078.00053.16236.35xxx. Key improvements in this release include:

  • Wi-Fi connectivity improvements, including fixes for Wi-Fi connection dropping randomly and Wi-Fi scan occasionally not returning any results.
  • Support for double tap to wake enabled.
  • Bluetooth connectivity improvements.
  • Stability and reliability improvements.
  • Camera improvements, including improved image and video quality, improved Auto-focus and fix for a problem that was causing slow motion capture to skip frames for some users.
  • Cellular connectivity improvements, including fix for a problem that caused occasional network loss for some users.
  • Audio quality improvements, including fix for a problem that caused voice call audio to get scrambled for some users.

The availability of the update may depend on your phone model, region or network service provider. Starting today, the update should become available for the first batch of phones and the remaining ones are expected to receive the update gradually.

Windows 10 is updating continuously, so make sure you follow all the update notifications that appear on your phone. To check for updates, you can also tap Settings > Update & security > Phone update > Check for updates. For more detailed update instructions and troubleshooting, see.

    I switched to this rom, as this was the only non-CV ROM for RM-1116

    However, didn't enable VoLTE, rolling back, then will upgrade to RS-1. Long day :'(

    Many unlocked and unbranded Android phones these days and all the recent iPhones have VoLTE available. I wonder why MS disables such basic features. Give the user an On/off switch and let the carrier decide whether to allow the phone to use VoLTE.

    Yeah, browsing the ROMS on that site. I downloaded this one - http://www.lumiafirmware.com/ser/RM-1116/guid/059X5B5 - but doesn't seem to have VoLTE.

    That's the one feature I miss from my carrier branded Android phone. (Well, that and the Starbucks app, which supposedly is on the way.)

    It's in the Lumia firmware website someone shared earlier. It looks more and more like none of the Dual SIM variants have VoLTE support.

    I however,would be grateful to whoever can find one.

    I would like to enable VoLTE and VoWiFi, too, but I have the Dual-SIM version and EE doesn't have a ROM for DS. The only "branded" non-CV ROM I can see is T-Mobile PL, so flashing that now.

    Never thought I would flash from an open ROM to a branded one.

    I downloaded and flashed the device with RM-1116 VAR NAM 4R CV WHITE.  I don't see VoLTE anywhere. i searched and can't find what a T-mobile PL variant would be in the list, since TMO doens't natively carry the 950XL. Mine is dual-sim with a TMO and an AT&T SIM onboard.

    What ROM can I flash to get VoLTE?
