We are starting to rollout a new firmware update today for Lumia 950/950 XL: 01078.00053.16236.35xxx. Key improvements in this release include:
The availability of the update may depend on your phone model, region or network service provider. Starting today, the update should become available for the first batch of phones and the remaining ones are expected to receive the update gradually.
Windows 10 is updating continuously, so make sure you follow all the update notifications that appear on your phone. To check for updates, you can also tap Settings > Update & security > Phone update > Check for updates. For more detailed update instructions and troubleshooting, see.

Microsoft could solve a lot of these problems and avoid this massive confusion by simply being transparent as to the required testing and approvals / sign-off that needs to happen rather than announcing firmware as released when in fact is not yet available.
The section in Settings on their phones and my Lumia is called Gestures, I don't think it is a throwback to the functional Gestures from 8.1 - unfortunately. They did not have Gestures beta loaded at all. This is Gestures that cam with Win 10.
The confusing part though is, that Win 10 Gestures is different on their version of Win 10 on their devices than on my Lumia 950. As mentioned previously - place phone down to silence is missing on the Lumia 950.
One of the better features of Gesture Beta was lifting the phone to ear automatically answered it. I wish they would bring it back.
That's what happens when you get rid of most of your mobile development staff and the ones that are still there are focusing their attention on Android and iOS.
Which I'm still finding a little confusing and at times disappointing truth be told. I know promises have been made before about things getting better for the platform and the continual resulting letdown over the years, but I'm sticking it out and continuing to believe it will ultimately get better (things have to get worse before they get better, right).
FWIW, I'm headed to the Microsoft Ignite conference this year and planning to visit with the WP reps and show them my list of observations and concerns hoping to gain some insight. The conversations have been historically interesting when they were at TechEd.
Getting back to the main topic at hand, I hope the FW comes out within the next few days, otherwise I may just use WDRT. Considering how many times I've updated the software the last several months, it could be time to zero the device out and start over with a fresh load.
