How to undo a "scheduled folder"

I was able to at least delete the scheduled folder finally. I had to install Windows 10 and was able to use the Mail app. The important thing is that you must delete the folder from the trash as well or it will keep moving back to the inbox. But it is finally gone.

Interestingly, I posted another thread on this issue from a different account where they couldn't help and chose to delete the whole thing and prevent me from posting anywhere, with no notice or explanation.

So, on my phone, I accidentally made one of my folders "scheduled."  Now that folder has a clock next to it's name instead of a folder icon.  I don't know what I did to make that happen.  I don't know what a "scheduled" folder is.  I don't know what benefits I get from having a "scheduled" folder, but I don't want it to be that way.  In fact, I attempted to delete the folder on the outlook.com web app, but the "scheduled" folder continues to appear on my Android Outlook (formerly Acompli) app.  

Can anyone tell me how to undo what I've done?  And can anyone point me to any documentation which would explain what a "scheduled" folder is and why I might want one?

Let me try and explain my workaround. 

I too selected a folder by accident as a scheduled folder, in this case it was a folder collecting announcements from AWS. 

I noticed that "Announcements" folder disappeared from my desktop and OWA. Which means, Outlook mobile APP converted my "announcements" folder into a "scheduled" folder. 

I re-recreated "announcements" folder in my Outlook. (note, you need to re-check your rules now)

Went into my mobile Outlook app, selected all messages from "scheduled" folder and moved them back to the "announcements" folder. 

Now, there is a feature in Outlook mobile/web where you can "schedule" an email to come back to you, you can do this via a swipe setting, or from message menu. So basically now when you "schedule" emails, the automatically go into "scheduled" folder on your mobile Outlook, so you can take a look into that folder, and get a glimpse into all your emails that you have scheduled to come back to you. Sort of nice feature. 

But the initial process is not very well thought out, because it basically completely destroys your customer folder, and converts it into a "scheduled" folder, destroying all the rules you had set up for your custom folder.

I founded a solution.

Settings - general - mobile devices, at this place I deleted all mobile devices including Android because android app made folder "protected" because it was used for scheduling. So now with uninstaled outlook app and device removed, folder is not any more protected and it was deletet with ease....

On Android built in app and on online outlook falder isnt there any more :) just make shure to outlook android app dont make other folder "protected" (used for scheduling mails). If You use that option again, problem will be there again.

I too have a problem on my android device with the scheduled folder. Some messages seem to end up here - don't now why - I am not aware of having put them there. I have tried moving them - which I can do but the messages then appear in both places ie - still in the scheduled folder. I have tried deleting them and they show as being deleted but again remain visible in the scheduled folder. I want rid of he scheduled folder!! help

I've reset my outlook app, no results. 

I then uninstalled and reinstalled.When I signed back into Outlook, the folder I don't want as my schedule folder was still selected. 

Never was prompted to select a schedule folder.
