Lumia 950 battery drains rapidly

My Lumia 950 was at 95% battery today.  I had it in my pocket for 2 hours and didn't take it out once or use it in any ways.  After 2 hours I pulled my phone out and it was at 72% and it felt very hot.  Is this the experience others are having with their Lumia 950 or does this sound like I may have a defective phone and/or battery?

    I'm in the exact same boat; I was loving my 950 until 4-5 days ago.   Now that I'm paying more attention I'm noticing the wifi and cellular icons are always showing outbound traffic.  Also, for the last two days it's telling me there is an update (.1029) but it is stuck at 0% downloaded and I also noticed that for the last 2 days I have 5 store apps that needed to be updated but they are all pending. 

    I think I am going to resort to a factory reset.

    I'm curious if the factory reset does anything for you.  I'm having the exact same problem as you.

    Between work meetings and my reluctance to pull the trigger I haven't done it yet.  I had a brief moment of clarity and theorized that nothing was downloading because the system thinks I'm out of stpace.  I deleted 3GB of music and nothing changed; I have 21GB free and I'm still getting the error.  If I am correct the fix to fix the storage error will never download.  I don't think I have a choice at this point but to reset.

    This is starting to drive me crazy.

    i cant get the update. Says it already updated even though its not. I also joined insiders and activated slow and fast rin. Still no updates.

    whats funny. If i charge to 100% at night and disconnect charger. The phone battery i great. Will not sink at all for several hours. The second i use it after 0700 the drain starts.

    omething is happening in the background.also. Writing on this forum via pjone is slow as ****. I can see the letters ten seconds after i write them.
